I'm highly interested in sustainable/organic foods -- a big fan of the slow food and farm-to-table movements. I do not generally eat CAFO meats or farmed fish and limit how much meat and fish I consume. I opt for veggie meals when I haven't brought my lunch or am eating dinner downtown, but because most Charleston, WV restaurant lunch/dinner menus typically feature meat-based sandwiches/soups/entrees, I'm typically at a loss as to where to eat. Pet peeves: Restaurant owners that try to pass off fish as a vegetarian option or offer unimaginative vegetarian foods like a fruit plate, tossed salad or veggie lasagna (I guess they've never heard of beans and rice) AND Restaurant owners that have nasty produce trucked in when there is a pretty good farmer's market right downtown (ripe local produce -- wow)!
