We had our food to go so I can't comment on the atmosphere or the service but the food was AMAZING!!!!!!Had the Soy Chicken Sa-tay and the Crispy Soy Chicken appetizers and both were delicious!
Our entrees were the Pharam and the Teriyaki, both with soy steak and both were great. I liked that they both came with brown rice (vs white) and they loaded the meals with fresh broccoli instead of the nasty veggies you usually get a fast food restaurants.
Our to go meals were well packed so nothing was leaking and nothing was mixed together. She even remembered straws, forks, sauces, napkins etc, which I NEVER get packed in when I get take out. Oh and she poked holes in the packing to let the steam out. All nice touches that I notice and appreciate!
Too bad I live in NY b/c now I will probably have to wait years before going back :(
I have not been here is years, but I used to go every time I visited the DC area, so maybe about 5 times.
This place is the reason I stayed veg after never having good vegetarian restaurant food back in the mid 90's.
The mock duck was the best, hope they still have it!
I'm pretty sure Oprah has eaten here, if you care!
Pretty good, but a little dirty and sometimes bad attitude from the waitresses if your hetero!
Good but limited menu, can sometimes run on the pricey side.
Amazing great food and nice lunch/dinner buffets!
Get the mock veggie wings every time you go!
The entrees sometimes are a bit too "organic" tasting meaning they lack flavor, but they sure are healthy!
Great food, great craft beer, great place!
Try the eggplant stuffed pizza with the veggie sausage added, the BEST!!!!
We go in a large group every year on my birthday and usually end up taking up half of the restaurants seating!
It's very cozy and quiet and the tofu pad thai is to DIE for!
I have never had a problem with real meat mixed in but sometimes the mock chicken can be a bit chewy, stick with the mock beef and you'll be just fine, and get your food TO GO!!!
Small and cozy but good veggie dogs and sweet potato fries!
Love the day of the dead art!
Great food and drinks but if you don't like spicy, this is not the place for you!
I think I read on happy cow that no one can figure out the hours and I know that every time we go or try to call, it's closed!
I crave the veggie meatloaf every other day!
Stick with that and you'll be good, the tofu products are a bit lacking in taste!
Met Russel Simmons and Glenn E Friedman here a few years back.
Loved the food but the atmosphere was lacking and I believe it was cash only.
I have been here several times over the years and have never had a problem except for the slow service! Good Food!
I try to make it here every time I visit NYC, it's good, reasonably priced and usually very fast!
Good food but the place was empty during lunch which makes me wonder.......
