Loved this meal! De Bron is a refreshing change from something quick to eat. It's home cooked slow-food and the experience allows time to relax, take in the calming decor, and visit.
Didn't know what to expect from the meal of the day, but it was fantastic! The meal included a variety of raw and cooked veggies, grain with mushroom gravy, a savory scoop reminiscent of thanksgiving stuffing, breaded broccoli, and vegan chocolate mousse. Portions are generous and the small plate was plenty for a filling meal. This is a must-do when in Brugge!
Exki to the rescue! While sightseeing, we didn't want to take time to stop for a full blown meal with waiter and all, but wanted a good meal, and this was the perfect fix. They had an excellent variety. Shared an awesome vegan mediterranean wrap, carrot soup, and salad with home baked bread that really hit the spot. You could either take pick up your packaged item to go, serve yourself from the small buffet, or both. The buffet had hot food including veg lasagna, pizza, soups, green or fruit salad, and more. Plenty of room to sit inside and this location has a WC in the basement (costs a few cents). Can easily accommodate a group of 6-10 in the dining area.
Turns out there are many locations, but we went to this one twice since it was so central.
The staff at this clean, bright restaurant was very helpful in identifying vegetarian and vegan foods on the menu. Their large menu includes soups, starters, breads, meals, desserts, and non-alcoholic beverages. There were a number of tempting options. My meal was a fabulous adventure of new Indian spices and flavors. I will go back!
Open only 6 weeks, this restaurant is already a San Francisco hit! We arrived about 9PM on a Tuesday night and found every table full. We sat at the bar which was a great chance to visit with the bartender and wait staff, and to check out the food coming and going! The decor is comfortable and warm with light wood tables and chairs, bright colors, tasteful artwork, & indirect lighting. Inside, there are 8 family-style tables that sit 6-8 people each and 12 seats at the bar. There are also 6 tables on a heated patio outside. The staff were friendly and helpful and knew details of the menu. They have a beer and wine license and offer a variety of wines, beers, & cocktails (sangria, mojito, margarita). They also offer fresh fruit waters and other NA beverages. Deciding what to choose from the comprehensive menu was difficult, everything sounded wonderful. We settled on a traditional tostada to start- a crispy corn tortilla with refried beans piled high with roasted chiles, pumpkin seeds, pico de gallo, and cashew crema (how do they do that? It was the richest cashew cream I've tasted). It was a great combination of flavor and texture and big enough to split. The entrees were almost too artfully presented to eat! I had the chile relleno: a delicious smokey roasted poblano chile filled with squash, seasoned with epazote, and drizzled with cashew cream. This already generous portion was served with refried black beans, brown rice, hot-ish pickled vegetables, and a basket of fresh, warm corn tortillas. My dining partner had the enchilada with mole rojo: 3 corn tortillas topped with mushrooms in a red mole sauce that picked up heat with each bite, wonderful! This was drizzled with the crema and served with a large helping of lightly dressed greens, pepitas, and refried black beans. Both entrees offered generous portions, a variety of colors on the plate, bold flavors, & crispy-chewy-creamy textures, it was a fantastic meal! We saved room for one dessert and it was well worth it. The chocolate cake with cocoa-cinnamon sauce served with toasted coconut "ice cream" was rich, moist, comforting...the perfect end to this outstanding meal.
While it's great that vegan options are easily identified & there are 100's of "sides" (chips, vegan cookies, etc.) and drinks available, I was disappointed with the experience. Ok, it's a deli. But we had to wait for the server to finish a cell phone call to take our order which was then incorrect when it was served. Oh, and they were out of sourdough bread. In San Francisco?? Yes, my mock chicken sandwich was super-great, and cheap. There are so many great vegan options in SF, they might just need to try a little harder.
La Pâte à Max provides simple, home-made pasta. Note- the pasta noodles contain egg. One of the sauces is vegan, a couple of others are vegetarian. This is one of very few dining establishments in Sarlat offering a vegetarian meal. Portions were generous and Max and his staff are very friendly, he does speak English well.
A beautiful presentation of excellent food. Home cooked comfort foods like bubbling crocks of vegan stew that really satisfy! This tiny restaurant is family run, not for those in a hurry as dishes appear to be made to order. Great place to spend a couple of hours savoring the meal!
Poeles de Carottes offers a huge variety of fantastic vegan and vegetarian fare! We could have eaten her every day and never had the same thing twice. The service, daily specials, and atmosphere were also great. Loved it so much, I bought the t-shirt!
This lovely Indian restaurant was a welcome retreat: I was dining alone and staff were very kind and helpful, artwork was interesting, atmosphere was cosmopolitan but quiet and calm. The food was one exotic, tantalizing option after another! Nearly one-third of their large menu was vegetarian/vegan. I couldn't decide, so I went with the thali to get a sample of as much as possible. Everything on the tray was unique and highly flavored, I liked it all! They were able to assure a vegan variety including legume dishes, fruit, vegetables, rice and crisp bread. While the meal was large, I did not receive the salad and dessert that was included on the menu. While most of the veg entrees were in the $10-13 range, the thali was more, so I was a bit disappointed when I realized I hadn't receive the full meal. Unfortunately, it didn't even occur to me until after I left and, frankly, I was too full to have eaten more!
It was a positive experience with fantastic food and I highly recommend it!
I reluctantly tried Taco Mac seeking outdoor seating after being inside the conference center for 10 hours! I was pleasantly surprised that they had a handful of good-looking vegetarian (able to be veganized) items to accompany their awesome beer selection from all over the world.
I had the portobello wrap (grilled portobello mushrooms with guacamole, lettuce, tomatoes, onion, cucumber, and olive oil vinaigrette) which was simple, but good. Other choices include a vegetarian burrito, bean tacos, & veg quesadilla). Chips and salsa are not complimentary, but the portion is generous if you order them. It's convenient, food is good, and staff are exceptionally friendly!
This Kurdish restaurant has great atmosphere and offers a large variety of vegetarian & vegan options!
The interior is striking with bright colors, rich tapestries, regional photographs, and sun shining in during the noon hour. It is casual, comfortable dining at small tables or cozy booths.
I had the Biryani, a flavorful dish of rice, noodles, potatoes, vegetables, and raisins in a delicious lemony oil. It was served with a Silopi (fresh cucumber and tomato) salad. I also tasted the Garbanzo Bean Shilla which was rich and filling. Both entrees were wonderful! The bread is thick and fluffy and comes with the meal.
Portions are generous and prices are very reasonable ($7-8).
I'll go back!
Casual place to grab a bite to eat on "Eat Street". We like the option for outdoor seating, though the inside has classic diner charm! There's a fair variety of veg options, and those that are vegetarian can easily be veganized by choosing Daiya cheese or substituting tofu for other ingredients. Gotta love that vegan milkshake!
Consistently, the food and drinks here exceed expectation! It's tough not to order the one-of-a-kind, melt-in-your-mouth salt and pepper tofu every time I go, but there are so many vegan and vegetarian items on the menu that eventually, I can't resist trying the next outstanding dish. The service staff is always attentive, friendly, & helpful. The food is great, flavorful, and served in generous portions. Their bar menu demands frequent returns in an effort to sample all the creative options. Pricing is good for the quality of the food, service, and atmosphere. HIghly recommended!
Great place to stop on a warm afternoon! With 6 vegan flavors today, they've got the best variety we've seen in town. From Italian ice (hibiscus lemonade) to creamy classics (toasted coconut), to creative new flavors (Pikachu: mango chili) there's something for everyone! We were told the sugar cone is vegan too, so no bowl necessary. We liked everything we tried!
There are a few tables inside, unfortunately, nothing outside. But, it's an ice creamy cone so made to take away.
The Wedge Table was a great stop for a quick meal on the way to a concert! Because the set up is "order at the counter", we were able to choose our options and get to a table without delay.
There were lots of vegan choices including soups, curry, hot dish, made to order burritos and panini, salads, smoothies, milkshakes, and baked goods. The food we had was tasty, fresh, and inexpensive!
The dining area could use a little color, something to soften it up, but well-lit and plenty of tables.
Glen Mountain Market offers a great selection of vegan sandwiches and subs! They have a menu of these sandwiches, but all are made to order so you can choose the bread or add/delete an ingredient. The food is fresh, tasty, and served in a basket with chips and a pickle. There is seating inside and outside. They also offer at least 1 vegan dessert and 2 breakfast pastries each day and can make up a soy latte or mocha to go with your sweet. The variety of the baked items was somewhat limited, raisin-nut bars were featured all week. They were good, but another choice would have been welcome.
The awesome home made food here is served with a smile! The food is fresh and made to order. Vegan options range from a tempeh reuben with home made dressing (had to have it twice!) to a tangy hummus wrap to a vegan chef salad. Main dishes are served with a creative side of salad like bulgar lentil or brown rice berry. Baked goods are available from cookies to fresh fruit tarts. The food was fantastic, this is casual vegan dining at its best!
We drove around town looking for anything other than a coffee shop and happened upon this comfortable, quiet restaurant. It's fair to call it "upscale", but we were there in shorts for lunch and weren't uncomfortable. It's nicely decorated and has friendly staff. They offer appetizers and salads with separate lunch and dinner menus. We had a wonderful tomato-basil soup and shared a bruschetta without cheese. Menu includes lots of meat, but does offer vegetarian and vegan options. They knew what it meant when asked if they could accommodate vegan requests and report that they are happy to do so.
I had a good lunch here, was pleasantly surprised to find vegan & raw food in Bismarck! The entree menu is fairly small. The vegan offerings when I stopped in included a couple each of soups, sandwiches, & wraps, lots of smoothies, as well as fruit, and cookies. I had an almond veggie pate sandwich which was very good- I expected sweet, like peanut butter, but it was more savory and I enjoyed it. A vegan pesto pita was also tempting. There are more options for vegetarians (ex. with cream cheese). The food is made fresh to order, I got to watch my apple be converted into juice! The omnivore friends I was with enjoyed their vegetarian options. Very small, only 3-4 tables. I would go back again!
We stopped at the Forest Café for dinner after a day of hiking. We found the vegan food we ordered to be creative, delicious, and filling! Portions were generous for the money. Our great meals and drinks were a welcome change from pub food.
Volunteer servers were friendly and helpful. It's a convenient location and comfortable dining area.
We had a great meal and will go back for more! What fun to find a 100% veg restaurant and have a variety of choices. We ordered an avocado wrap that was served with a small salad topped by sweet chili dressing. It was delicious! We also tried the curry of the day thali plate which was excellent and generous! This is one of the few places we have found near the city center where you can order a meal for under 5 pounds, prices are very reasonable. The staff was friendly and able to answer questions, the few items with yogurt dressing or cheese listed as an ingredient can easily be made vegan by leaving these off. Can't wait to go back and try something else!
Exciting to find great vegan food in the heart of the tourist zone! We ate inside where there is table service. The server was friendly, and food can be eaten in or taken to-go. We had a hearty breakfast bagel and porridge, and will go back to try the good-looking soups and wraps! Plenty to choose from.
We were excited to find Real Foods market which offers a much larger variety of vegan food than any of the grocery stores! They have not just one, but a number of vegan cheeses, yogurts, and milk replacement and lots of meat analogs to choose from.
Real Foods offers a 10% discount card for items bough during morning hours if you fill out a registration card.
It's always great to have a place to go where you don't have to read every ingredient!
They serve brunch, lunch, and dinner.
Nearly everything on the menu is or can be made vegan. For instance, next to each pizza is the designation "VO", vegan option. In other words, they can make it with vegan cheese.
The most creative part of the menu is the starters section with some fun options like pot stickers, beet chips, and stuffed avocado to mention a few. Beyond that, the menu is fairly straightforward and can easily please veg-eaters and their non-veg friends. Fair selection of salads, burgers, sandwiches, pasta & about 10 pizza options.
Some of the items include meat analogs (vegan meats), like a Chik'n Caesar salad. I like those, but would like to have seen a couple bean or lentil meals available too.
We were there at dinner time and liked the food. Shared a couple of starters which were great.
We each ordered a pizza because "the chef won't allow splitting"- we asked for half vegan cheese. I know there is no guarantee that the cheeses won't touch, and that they cook a little differently, but we ended up with way more than we wanted. And spent twice as much ($15 each). The pizza was good, typical wood fired option with crisp edges and thin middle. It is certainly big enough to share with a friend.
They serve pop, coffee, tea reasonably priced. We had "specialty drinks" that were over $10 each...oops. Beer was cheaper.
If there was a negative to the experience, it was the service. Our server only came by 3 times in 2 1/2 hours. We had to go inside and ask for drink refills, also go in to get & pay the bill. The server was friendly when present, but not around or even in sight most of the evening. There was one other server who was quite visible.
Unfortunately, neither the menu nor the server mentioned happy hour . If they had, we might have made a meal of starters! Didn't know until we got the bill that they were less expensive, and they really did sound delicious.
All in all, good veg food in a lovely setting. I will definitely go back!
McStiff's offers a couple of veg items in each menu category- appetizers, salads, pizzas (though the vegan pizza was cheese-less, not made with a veg cheese), sandwiches, and burgers.
We had a good meal, miso wrap was yummy and pizza hit the spot! Cooled down with cocktails. Very friendly staff who helped with menu choices and gave local information.
It was busy, but we got a quiet table on the garden porch.
Very casual, you could show up here in your sweaty hiking clothes and nobody would look twice.
Eklecticafe has a great atmosphere and lovely outdoor seating with fountains, greenery, and songbirds in abundance.
They provide generous portions of fresh, home made, organic foods with plenty of vegan items to choose from - delicious! Wish we'd had more time to go back.
You can order a boxed lunch in advance, or get food to take along on the trail if you don't have time to eat there.
Great veg friendly breakfast and lunch options. Breakfast menu includes choices like panini, burritos, warm quinoa, granola, and my favorite, the best darn vegan waffles ever! Both mornings we were there they offered 3 vegan muffin flavors. Gluten free items available too.
Many creative sandwiches and wraps can be ordered for lunch.
All of the breads at Love Muffin are made with local and organic ingredients and are vegan.
Everything can be ordered to go if you are on your way to the parks.
We ate here twice and liked everything we tried! Fast and friendly service offers a standard line up of tasty veg option. Their vegetarian chili is fantastic & chunky with 3 beans, tomato, corn, peppers...it can be a meal itself or top a baked potato or nachos. You can also choose from black bean soup, veggie burrito, wraps, garden burger, salads, or a number of pasta dishes.
