veg-friendly Ethiopian spot in East Village
Meskel is your typical Ethiopian restaurant, serving many vegan items including: lentils, split peas, potatoes and cabbage, collards, and more. All the main dishes are served with the traditional Ethiopian spongy flatbread, injera.
Unlike some Ethiopian restaurants, Meskel lists the vegetarian section first and it is also larger than the meat sections. The vegetarian items are also vegan (no dairy or eggs are used in anything), and you can get individual dishes or get a large, combination platter for about $14.
