I went here a couple years ago and was not impressed by the food. With so many other vegetarian options in the East Bay, I probably won't go back. They serve a variety of food from different food traditions (Thai, Greek, etc). I went here with friends so I tried three dishes. The Pad Thai was not as good as that available at most Thai restaurants (it came with tomato sauce or a really thick peanut-buttery peanut sauce, both of which tasted a little odd with the dish ). The moussaka was good though.

Herbivore is probably my favorite vegetarian restaurant in Berkeley. The dishes are reliably good (my favorites are the soy chicken shawarma wrap and the cheesesteak sandwich) and the service is friendly and fast. Herbivore is one of the few places in the area that offers vegan brunch and it is not to be missed! The fruit-filled crepes are reason alone to visit Herbivore on a weekend. The fact that Herbivore also features a full bar with vegan versions of classic drinks (Soy White Russians, anyone?) doesn't hurt either.

Great selection and environment. Delicious desserts. Haven't had anything I didn't like.
