Wow, I really loved this place, I just wish I could have gone here more than once. They had the most vegan selections of any other place I visited in Miami. While their (separate) vegan menu included really tasty-sounding and hard-to-find in Miami dishes like vegan coconut curry and vegan chicken salad, I was drawn to the "vegan platter". The platter had grilled tofu, seasoned corn (not on the cob), black bean hummus, a white bean salad, sweet potatoes. I mentioned to the server that the platter would benefit from some greens and my platter included a very simple lettuce/tomato salad but I'm not sure if it normally comes with that.
The tofu was absolutely fantastic. A lot of places claim to have grilled tofu but I think they use a sort of panini press or George Foreman "grill", which doesn't count. Books and Books actually grills their tofu and you could taste the delicious charcoal flavor on the tofu. I would say that all other items on the dish were pretty good but nothing really stood out as being exceptional. Also, every item came at room temperature and I think the food would have benefited greatly from being served hot and with more salt/spice/punch. :) Finally, the dish was SUPER carb/protein heavy so if I go here again, I would maybe order a side of sauteed greens and then take half of the vegan platter home as leftovers, as it was a pretty big and filling plate.
The service was prompt and friendly and I really enjoyed the outdoor seating which was covered and included little warming lamps to help with the evening chill.
