This is an adorable, friendly, cool, comfortable coffee shop that is a great place to hang out, grab coffee or tea, and meet friends or get some work done. They have a great mix single and group tables along with comfy couches to relax on along with well-stocked bookshelves to utilize if you're looking for reading material. I also liked that each table came stocked with a box of Trivial Pursuit cards to read through. I dined alone and didn't feel like reading my book so I was happy to read through the playing cards.
All that said, I would not come back here for food. My food was prepared well and prepared with love but it was very bland and the vegan options are circa 1999, including salad, hummus, a Boca burger, and vegetarian chili. Not at all exciting. I got a cup of the vegetable and barley soup ($3), which was good, but not great and was just a teaser. The hummus sandwich (6) was well-stocked with sprouts, lettuce, tomato, and onion, but at the end of the day, it's still hummus on bread, which can only be so fantastic. I'd love to see some more interesting items offered, in which case, I'd be more likely to return while in Evanston.
