Fine Indian cuisine in the heart of downtown Minneapolis.

Located across the street from the Foshay Tower, Bombay Bistro is a popular destination for lunching workers. It offers standard North Indian cuisine with some South Indian options on the weekends.

Be warned that there is a buffet during lunch, with highly limited vegan options, and the restaurant does not allow you to order off the menu.

A selection of vegetarian items can be found on the menu, but it is a mostly non-vegetarian restaurant.

We ordered the Saag Chana, Jeera Aloo, and Roti. Everything was well above average. The Saag Chana was the best I've ever had. The service was great, veg knowledgeable/helpful, and friendly. It's definitely the best Indian food I've had in Minneapolis.

It's a little more money than other Indian places in town, but that makes sense given its location. I'd definitely recommend it for dates, semi-formal outings, special nights, tourists, etc.

I love the lunch buffet. We have only gone to the "South Indian" buffet, and would not try the North because of the limited selection. But they have the best gobi manchurian that I know of in the twin cities!
