Nearly vegetarian fusion cafe
Minus one fish sandwich, this place is vegetarian, which is very impressive for the area. Sabe Rico serves a variety of soups, sandwiches, and sides, including sauteed veggies, curried chickpeas, pickled beets, hummus, cous cous, and lentil salads. Many of their entrees and sides are vegan, but none of their desserts are. However, they sell some chocolates that are vegan. They also offer a wide variety of gluten-free products and packaged goods like nut butters and grains.
Their food is available both in the cafe and for take away. Their dining room is small, but they are building another restaurant in the back and sometimes let you sit in that restaurant's outdoor patio.

I was there in Jan. 2011 and found an awesome vegan sandwich with roasted vegetables, caramelized onion, fresh tomato, lettuce, and avocado, and seasoned with herbs and balsamic vinaigrette. They accidentally put cheese in my sandwich but I noticed right away and they brought me a new sandwich. It was delicious.
I really liked the food here. The food was definitely pricier than other places, but considering it's nearly all veg and features a lot of organic and hard to find foods, the price is probably justified.
I had the curried chickpeas, which were delicious, and the pickled beets, which were also very good. I tried a sauteed veggie side dish, which was good, but not great.
The service was great. All the tables were full so the owner took us out to the outdoor dining area, which was in a beautiful garden. It actually belonged to a new restaurant that they are in the process of opening, so it was really nice of him to let us sit there.
