We ate here both nights in Kyoto. Everything was terrific. From a large menu, we chose a teriyaki tempeh sandwich, a set Chinese special, the spring rolls, goreng (with fake egg that was to die for) and the tofu steaks with miso soup. They make a terrific homemade ginger ale with bite. They were our favorite restaurant on our trip to Japan.
They have English menus. You choose your order and go up to the counter to pay at the beginning. After that they serve you at the table. The staff chatted with us about our trip and were really friendly and spoke pretty good English.
The Hyakumanben bus stop is right across the street from the restaurant. (The closest subway station is a 15 minute walk away.)
