Ultra-Popular, Hip Pizza and Pasta Joint
This local chain of original Chicago-style pizza joint serves award-winning thin crust, stuffed and pan pizza to the sounds of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Big-Band music of the 40's and 50's.
From the management (December 20, 2010): "As far as our pastas go, they do contain eggs. Our wheat crust has honey. Our marinara has cheese. You can have the pan pizza dough, but not a pan pizza (due to the cooking process of a pan pizza). You can ask them to take the pan pizza dough and roll it into a thin crust pizza. Our pizza sauce is vegan and if you ask for it with no cheese you can create a pizza for yourself."
The Gilbert location encompasses two large buildings with a patio in between them. (See pic below.)
Note: Parking is extremely tight at most locations.* (This, apparently, is done on purpose to create the appearance of scarcity.) And be prepared for extremely long waits on Friday or Saturday nights at most locations* (i.e., taking 2 hours or longer to be seated to eat). Though, the bar drinks and free appetizers can help ease the pain.
