Cafe and coffee shop with many vegan sandwiches

Restaurant, Coffee/Tea/Juice

Savory offers vegan sausages, sandwiches, sweets, and drinks. They have a separate display case for vegetarian and vegan items and clearly mark which items are vegan. Some vegan options include: curried rice, veggie burritos, pasta salads, and various desserts.

Their vegan desserts are from Vegan Treats (in Pennsylvania) so they usually get whatever is brought to them. They often run out of some types of desserts but usually have at least one or two vegan options available.

Savory Cafe also hosts many meetings during the week, including animal rights and human rights groups. Live music is also often featured on Friday nights.

I really love that, not only are vegan and vegetarian items clearly marked, but they get their own separate display case! Some friends and I stopped in here for dessert and unfortunately, they only had one vegan item, a strawberry glazed white cake from Vegan Treats. The cake was so-so (I'm sort of sick of Vegan Treats desserts), but the vegan items in the display case looked really good.

I was in on a Friday night and there was a guitarist playing on the lower level and it was a really nice, and relaxed atmosphere.
