Veg-friendly Vietnamese Food

The West Bank Cafe is a trendy Riverwest eatery that offers more than just Vietnamese fare. Daily specials often include unusual combinations of Vietnamese, Chinese, French, Thai and American influences, such as Creole tofu. Staff is always willing to sub and omit ingredients to make dishes completely vegan. Appetizers include vegetable egg rolls and lettuce wraps with peanut dipping sauce. A huge variety of soups, stir-fries and rice dishes complete the regular menu and many entrees are prepared and served in a clay pot.

The restaurant has a casual atmosphere of peach walls accented with rattan-hued wood trim and is very welcoming. It is a small restaurant but is very cozy and great for couples or small groups.

I've only been here once but I had a really great dining experience. The ambiance was warm and welcoming and the food was great. I had a fresh tofu clay pot that was simply amazing. I also had spring rolls and tasted a friends' vegan pho soup, which was outstanding. The portions were pretty small but the flavors were delicious. My only complaint would be that the menu is like an encyclopedia so it takes forever to chose what you want.
