Bar and grill with many vegan options

Restaurant, Bar

The Double Wide Grill is a bar and grill, open until 1 a.m. every night, that serves many clearly marked vegan and vegetarian options.

They have a BBQ pulled seitan sandwich, tender seitan wings, grilled vegetable chili, mushroom stroganoff and lentil burgers — all vegan. Their "Choose 3" platters let you combine favorite veg sides to make a meal. They also have a number of vegetarian options.

Vegan and vegetarian items have their own page on the menu, so it's easy to find what you want without combing through all the ingredients. Some of the non-vegan dishes can also be made vegan on request, and the wait staff seem to be very knowledgeable about vegan requirements.

On Saturday and Sunday, the Double Wide Grill has a brunch with vegan Oat & Walnut pancakes and South of the Border Tofu Scrambler, plus a bunch of side dishes all marked whether they're vegan, including seitan sausage.

They have seasonal soups that are marked vegetarian or vegan on the daily specials board.

I love Double Wide. I used to go there even before I went veg. Their lentil burgers are the closest thing I've had to a real burger. BUT, and this is a big BUT, their service is downright awful. Out of all of the times I visited DW, I only had one good experience. Don't get me wrong, the waiters and waitresses are all super friendly and I have nothing bad to say about any of them, but the wait time for food is just absurd.
