Usually have a vegan cookie and soup
Amore is a friendly relaxed neighborhood coffeeshop that makes for a comfy spot to work or meet friends. It's small enough to feel cozy but it's large enough to sit away from noisier people for times when you need to concentrate. Staff are friendly and most seem low-key and accommodating, and seem to favor mellow but creative music (Sufjan Stevens, Jose Gonzalez, etc.).
While there are far more gluten-free options than vegan ones, the coffeeshop is mindful of offering vegan items. They have energy bars by the register, and tasty Koala cookies on the baked goods counter. These don't have the usual big "Koala" labels on them but the owner took the time to search through her paperwork and confirm they are indeed the usual vegan Koala brand. Much of the time they also offer a vegan and gluten-free soup.
Their coffee is great. Fair-trade and roasted on site.
Sometimes they have local musicians play and they also frequently display community photographers works.

NeighborhoodWest Side, St. Paul
Located at the intersection of Annapolis and Smith, the coffeeshop is at the boundary of St. Paul and West St. Paul.
Technically, it's in West St. Paul, but it's just across the street from the part of St. Paul known as the West Side, so I'd guess that lots of people refer to it that way. Either way, ignore the "west" part. Both "West St. Paul" the suburb and St. Paul's West Side neighborhood are actually south of downtown St. Paul.
From downtown St. Paul, head a little west on West 7th Street and turn when you see the signs to take the beautiful High Bridge over the Mississippi River. The High Bridge is Smith Street/Avenue, and the coffeeshopis on Smith about a mile south of the bridge.
