I've been coming here for years. The quality of the food is always high. Front counter staff are friendly and efficient. I appreciate that they have so many specially marked veg*n options on the menu.
When you first walk in, you'll notice that the front part of the space is a small store featuring all manner of middle eastern groceries. They sell fabulous walnut and pistacio baklava that they import from a bakery in Chicago's north suburbs. Also specialty candies from the middle east and all kinds of staples like hummos, bags of pine nuts, etc.
The area where the place could use improvement is its cleanliness. When you first open the front door, it's greasy. Gross. And not a good first impression. The little plastic seat in the waiting area seems to always have bugs lodged in the crevice. The place just needs a thorough cleaning. That said, this is the best Mediterranean food in Northwest Indiana served by a gracious staff and is highly recommended.
