It can be tough for vegetarians in northwest Indiana, but this place is a breath of fresh air. They have an awesome sandwich board. My favorites are:

Ooh La La - Sourdough bread topped with Havarti cheese, horseradish mustard, tomato, avocado and fresh spinach and a fried egg.

Popeye - homemade "everything bialy" layered with homemade cream cheese spread, fresh spinach, tomato, cucumber, red onion. Served with ranch dressing on the side for dipping.

Say Cheese - Swiss, cheddar and provolone cheeses grilled on tomato basil bread. Add tomato ($.50).

The Veggie - Tomato basil bread, toasted with hummus, provolone, topped with letttuce, tomato, red onion, cucumber, artichokes. Drizzled lightly with homemade vinaigrette.

California Crunch salad (veg version): Mixed greens topped with scoop of hummus, pecans, avocado, artichokes, craisins, cucubers, tomato, homemade croutons and homemade vinagigrette.

Garden Grub on a Plate - plate with hummus, spinach dip, pita chips and cut up veggies.

You can also get any of their other subs made w/o meat like "The Pilgrim" - ask for no turkey, then it has swiss cheese and granny smith apple slices grilled warm on white bread with a bit of mayo and homemade cranberry sauce spread.

They also have soups, salads, fruit smoothies and old-fashioned phosphates.

They sell eggs from their own free-range chickens.

Also, you can get any dish 'veganized'. Just ask for no cheese or to substitute hummus for their (creamy) spinach dip that is used on a number of the items.
