Vegan Restaurant with a Chinese slant now in central Phoenix!

Loving Hut 2 in the second Phoenix metro location for this up-and-coming fast-casual chain of 100% VEGAN restaurants with a Chinese-food slant. Located in central Phoenix, in the building that formerly housed the locally-famous Vegetarian House, this Loving Hut features some of the same menu items as the Vegetarian House, as well as many standard Loving Hut menu items.

On the menu, you'll find appetizers ($2.95-$4.25) including Spring rolls, Wontons, Dumplings, Vegan Sushi. The Moo Shu Vegetable wraps are a popular holdover from the Vegetarian House. There's also an assortment of soups and salads ($5.50-$8.50), including the Vegetarian House's Seven Heaven Salad.

Entrees ($5.95-$9) include vegan burgers, rice noodles, fried rice, chow mein, lemongrass "chicken," bean curd, eggplant and tofu, sweet and sour "chicken," and items like Broccoli Mushroom and Stuffed Tomatoes from the Vegetarian House's menu.

They also offer vegan dessert such as flan, cheese cake, and ice cream, as well as fresh juices and hot teas.

This is by far the best Loving Hut in Phoenix (ok, there's only two).

We ate here twice and really enjoyed the food. We loved the fried rice and the royal noodle soup. This soup is basically a tom yum noodle soup. It was a great balance of sweet, sour, and spicy. The Au Lac noodle soup is also good.

I'd also highly recommend the guru curry. They bill it as Indian but it tasted more like Malaysian food to me. Regardless, it was delicious.

The service is friendly and quick. Of course, like any Loving Hut, they have a TV. I'm not a fan of TV in restaurants, but it wasn't too terribly loud.
