Vegan Pizza in Orange County, California

We tried the Hawaiian and the Meat Lovers pizzas. Both were excellent but the Hawaiian was particularly tasty. They add jalapenos to it which kicks things up a notch. I didn't think I would like it with jalapenos but I really loved it. We got our pies to go and ate them in a nearby park because we had our dogs with us and our son wanted to play.

The food was good and the prices were fine but our impression was that this place is totally disorganized. Our food server could not remember our order. Also, from a vegan perspective, the menu is lacking; it was not nearly as creative as it could be. To make matter worse, they were out of many items. We will not be coming back.

This place is vegan-friendly but it's not vegan or vegetarian. Our servers were helpful and seemed fairly knowledgable about veganism. The food was terrific. The location is good. It's in a plaza with both indoor and outdoor seating. There's a fountain and a bit of faux grass nearby - enough for small children to play around. There is often live music as well. The prices are a little high and the wait can be long, but we found the food tasty enough that we returned and plan to return again in the future.

I loved Atomic #7 when it was open. Sadly it is currently closed. There's a rumor they may re-open but for now the business is closed.

I've only been there once so far but I found the food to be excellent. I really enjoyed my meal. That said, our food server was a bit defensive about veganism and did not make us feel welcomed for comfortable. I hope that was an isolated incident. I look forward to trying the place again in the future.

There aren't many vegan items on the menu but the pea and barley soup is very good and when you add in the convenience and location factors it makes CPK worth it. Town Square is a nice outdoor shopping center with a kids play area featuring a splash pad. This place is child-friendly and popular. Be forewarned that there is often a significant wait to be seated.

This location is inside the mall so there is no outdoor space and it can get a little noisy. However, it's a convenient location to meetup with a tourist friend. It's also relatively kid-friendly. Don't even try during a busy shopping season though because the wait will be long. I almost always get the pea and barley soup, which my whole family loves. I often also get the hummus (with thin crust instead of pita) and the roasted veggie salad.

Capriotti's in Las Vegas, Nevada

Before I was vegan, when I was lacto-ovo vegetarian, I went here all the time. It was a convenient place to order work lunch from because they have options that will satisfy almost anyone. And for the record, many nonvegetarians would rave about the veggie turkey sub.

Now that I am vegan I am disappointed that Capriotti's does not offer vegan options. Perhaps the future will see some changes! We can hope :)

Ask for vegan cheese (it wasn't on the menu when we were there but they have it). The pizzas are cooked VERY quickly. The ambiance is perfect for families or casual dining with friends.

Elixir Organic Café & Lounge in Las Vegas, Nevada

Most food is simple sandwiches, soups, and salads. Nothing crazy or fancy.

Pros
- Large vegetarian/vegan menu (2nd half of the menu is all veg)
- Reasonable prices
- Very friendly people
- Casual, comfortable seating
- Plenty of parking
- Outdoor space (I assume dogs are OK)

Cons
- They did not have any high chairs whenever I have been there
- Some food servers get confused about vegan vs. vegetarian

Greens and Proteins in Las Vegas, Nevada

Vegan options include a vegan pizza, a vegan burger, smoothies, and more. The thing that sets Greens and Proteins apart is that the calorie counts are posted right on the menu. Although the prices are a bit high the food is good and the atmosphere is cool. The place is always clean, the staff is nice, and your food is ready quickly. The only thing I wish is that they had even more vegan options.

Hussong's Cantina Taqueria in Las Vegas, Nevada

They have a separate vegan menu - ask for it. This is not your normal Mexican restaurant. Nothing will arrive looking or tasting like you expect, it's going to be stylized. It's all very good, but it's different. The service was excellent.

The service here is always excellent. And the vegan food is clearly marked. It's fantastic food as well. They have an incredible beer menu as well. The location is not great, but it's often convenient. The prices are a little high but well worth it. If you're not sure what to get choose the buffet so you can try a little of many things.

I love the tofu nachos. They are seriously addictive. All the other vegan options are good, too, but the tofu nachos are my favorite. FYI, the street tacos are a smaller portion size than most of the other menu items. Also, you can ask for substitutions. They may charge a fee for it but they can usually replace the cow's cheese on an item with vegan cheese (example: even though they don't have a quesadilla on the vegan menu, they can make a vegan qusadilla for you if you just ask).

The food is fantastic. The service is great. And the view is remarkable. It can be very romantic. It's also a great place for business - lots of business people go there. The place has a very "old Vegas" feel to it. While this can be fun, this also makes the place appealing to a certain clientele which in turn may make some people feel unwelcome. Personally, I think it's best suited for a night out with a special someone or business meetings.

Paymon's Mediterranean Cafe & Hookah Lounge in Las Vegas, Nevada

rating star

This restaurant was one of my favorite places when I was a lacto-ovo vegetarian. The laid back ambiance and the yummy Mediterranean food kept me coming back. But after going vegan I found it less appealing. For example, the lentil soup comes with cheese on top and therefor must be requested to be removed. Aside from modified salads and hummus, few other items on the menu even come close to being vegan and so overall it's not the best option for vegans.

Yummy vegan pizzas and vegan baked ziti. Coming soon: vegan eggplant parm, vegan cheesecake, and more.

Staff is very friendly and food is good. Restaurant is uncomfortably warm (better to order to-go or delivery).

Terrace Pointe Cafe at Wynn in Las Vegas, Nevada

I've eaten here a number of times. The service is always very good. The ambiance is classy.

I recommend sitting outside if weather permits to enjoy the sunshine and people-watching. Of all the menu items I have tried, my favorite so far is the burger meal.

Although they will gladly accomodate children I do not consider this restaurant particularly child-friendly.

Tropical Smoothie Cafe in Las Vegas, Nevada

This location only has four tables inside (two outside). It is often very crowded and you may have to wait a while for your smoothies and food. Like the others, it has Beyond Meat that can be subbed for chicken in any wrap or salad. Sooo good.

This location has plenty of seating inside as well as a drive-thru outside. Very convenient. Try the hummus veggie wrap minus cheese plus Beyond Meat - fantastic!

Service is spotty and prices are higher than I'd like but the food is good and it's very convenient.

Whole Foods Market in Las Vegas, Nevada

For shopping: WF has great vegan meats, cheeses and other vegan specialties like vegan pudding and yogurt. Also carries FAIR TRADE bananas (hard to find). They have the kid-size shopping carts, too, which makes shopping with littles easier.

For dining: The salad, soup, and hot food bar have plenty for vegans and everything is clearly marked. You can also order a vegan pizza custom made to eat there or take home. The bakery often has vegan cookies, bread, and there are usually some raw vegan pie slices and sorbet too.
