The service was very fast and the servers were extremely nice and informative of what was vegan on the menu. They also offer brown rice as an option without an extra charge, which sadly can be rare in other restaurants. I had the Vietnamese Noodle Bowl with tofu but ended up putting some curry on top of the noodles that I shared with my mum (she got the red curry eggplant with mixed vegetables). The curries were very flavorful and big enough to bring home or share.
Also, they have happy hour prices all day!
There were two vegan ice cream options and approximately 3 sorbets. I tried the cucumber mint sorbet as well as the vegan carrot cake ice cream and both were very flavorful and good. The prices are pretty decent and the place had a great crowd. Also, great artwork on the walls :)
The coffee is great, Alterra is a fantastic coffee bean company that I have enjoyed ever since growing up in Milwaukee and Madison, WI. While visitin Golden, I had the veggie wrap and was very pleased, they did not skimp on the vegetables at all. Afterwards, I couldn't resist sharing the local vegan peach and blueberry cobbler with my mum and we both loved it. The two owners were so nice and very happy to meet fellow Wisconsinites/Midwesterners.
It was difficult to choose a bakery item to have because they had so many vegan options, this was a surprisingly great find in a small town.
I brought my two omnivore parents (one quite chastising about vegan food) here for lunch and we had a fantastic experience. The seitan was delicious in the various forms we tried it in (on a sandwich and as a larger entree). The salads boasted super fresh and abundant vegetables and had delicious homemade dressings (the wasabi was the best). The menu is very informative for people that are not used more "normal" vegan cuisine and the servers were also very helpful. If you are in the area, this restaurant is a must.
This is one of my favorite coffee shops in the Twin Cities, especially near the University. The vegan options for baked goods are very well made; the cookies are the best and the quickbreads are also extremely delicious and creative. The service is fast and the baristas are friendly. There are also vegan options for salads, breakfast, and sandwiches. If it were only open more often it would be my favorite cafe in the cities.
Upon walking into India Pavillion, you may be put off by the lack of atmosphere and the usually empty dining area. However, that is probably because most people use it as a take-out type of place being in 5-points, the center of college bars and all.
I took my parents there because they were not well-versed in Indian food and now it has become one of their favorite places. The pricing is decent and the vegetarian options were plentiful. Although it is not a solely vegetarian restaurant, it is a great place to introduce people to great vegetarian food.
I would definitely frequent this as a take-out place or for the lunch buffet.
Mellow Mushroom is a pretty good chain to go to if you are in need of a place to please your friends as well as your vegetarian/vegan tendencies. Their build your own salads are great and have the best tempeh I have come across at any restaurant, nevertheless a chain! The service is a bit slow, but the food is always delicious. I have yet to try the tempeh sandwich, but have heard good things. The staff is always happy to veganize anything they can for you.
