We were fans of Udupi and hadn't been back since the name changed to Nala Pak. Today we went for the lunch buffet. We were so disappointed that there was less selection than we remembered. One thing we really enjoyed was the Mattar Paneer- it was creamy and perfectly spiced. Also the Dosai that was brought to our table was delicious. The rest of the food was just so-so. We thought the price of the buffet was a little high for the selection of foods.

If Nala Pak was the only vegetarian Indian restaurant around, we'd be happy to go there once in awhile. But with so many other wonderful choices in the area, we will go elsewhere next time we want Indian food.

As far as salad bars go, this is one of the best ones I've been to. The fact that I can use romaine or spinach instead of plain old iceberg for my salad, makes me like this place. It seems like there are a few more salad toppings than most places offer- like chickpeas, shredded cabbage, red onions. The hot food is OK. If nothing else looks good to me, there are always baked potatoes that I can take back over to the salad bar for toppings. The soups are hit or miss- but usually there are one or two vegetarian ones.

This is our go-to place for taking out-of-town guests and family members who aren't into trying anything "different." The food can be a little on the boring side, but there is something for everyone and it's possible to eat a healthy meal here.
