I took a 7 day trip to Frisco and ate here 3 times during my stay! Their appetizers are incredible, their entrees are so delicious and really filling, and I now I dream about the food!

I had a Caesar salad here with smoked tofu and it was one of the best salads I've ever had! The desserts are amazing. The entree I had was a cornmeal gnocchi with mushrooms and had a smokey barbecue type sauce. I was sorry to say that it didn't really live up to my expectations, but the rest of the meal was fantastic.

The vegan Plant burger was delicious made for a healthy yet filling lunch. The menu could be a bit more clear on what exactly is vegan.

This restaurant is one of the most romantic I've been to. The view can't be beat. The wine list is impressive. They have a vegan salad, which was very lightly dressed, but still rather tasty. They also have a marinated grilled portobello dish which was absolutely delicious. It comes with a starch side of your choice, sauteed potatoes, or a few different rice options, all of which can be made vegan. I was hoping that their sorbetto trio dessert would be vegan, but it does have dairy. Bummer!

Hanapepe Cafe & Espresso in Kaua'i, Hawaii

They don't have a lot of vegan options, but their Hanapepe HealthNut Sandwich is amazing! It's locally made bread (they have 3 that are vegan), raw veggies, dijon mustard, and hummus. Comes with tortilla chips and black bean salsa. I had that with a glass of pineapple juice. Very tasty! They have a lot of locally made arts and crafts in the store too, which was fantastic. Definitely going back while on the island! My only gripe would be to have more vegan sandwiches.

This place is great! Let them know you're vegan when ordering and they'll take care of it from there (they have a "vegan" button on the register!). Their tofu taco salad is pretty good, but a little hard to eat. Lots of fresh lettuce, spinach, cabbage, tomatoes and black olives as well as some refried beans and their tofu with the cilantro-lime sauce. I also had a tofu taco (which I will be going back for!) with the cilantro-lime sauce. SO GOOD! It comes with rice and cabbage on the taco.

Puka Dog in Kaua'i, Hawaii

My husband and I made this our last meal on Kaua'i before heading to the airport and man, did we make the right choice! Their veggie dogs are amazing, and they way they do their buns is genius.. they stab a hole through the middle and fill it up with dog, relish and mustard so when you eat it, it doesn't leak all over your hands and the dog doesn't fall out. Brilliant! My only complaint is that when you get to the end, there's about 3-4 inches of solid bun left. Either a smaller bun or a bigger dog would be an improvement, but when a vegan can go out to lunch for huge hot dogs, a vegan shouldn't complain!

Amazing food! Their menu is clearly marked as to which items are vegetarian and as far as I know the taco salad, tacos, and burrito can all be made vegan. Their margaritas are delightful. They bring you a basket of tortilla chips while you wait and they have a "salsa bar" where you can scoop your own. Get both the red and the green. The red is kind of smokey and sweet, and the green is very fresh with just a little heat, which is perfect for someone like me who can't handle spicy foods very well. They have awesome guacamole, and their rice and beans are vegan too. Excellent place for a nice, full meal!

Excellent selection of grocery items, including stuff that I can't find in Milwaukee. The deli is nice, but could use a bit more vegan friendliness. I'm so glad that there is a place like this in Door County! It's hard to find good lunch spots that don't just offer meat and fried foods.

ICE CREAM!! Babe's is a must for summer snacking. I lived around the corner from there when I was pregnant, and definitely had my fill of the vegan brownie sundaes! They even have vegan caramel sauce!! And cookie ice cream sandwiches! If you're unsure about what vegan treats they can make you, don't hesitate to ask. Sundaes, shakes, floats.. mmmm..

I agree with what the other people said on here about the atmosphere. The lunch/dinner menu is really lacking, but I have to say, they have the best tofu scramble in the city! Your best bet though is either getting something from the deli case or ordering off of the carry-out menu.

No, they don't have a huge amount of options, BUT their food is fantastic and their service can't be beat! The beans are vegan, but the rice is not (that was debated online for a while, and I got official word the last time I went there). I always get either the veggie fajitas with beans and guac, "vegetarian tacos" (which some waiters are confused by) which is peppers, onions, avocado slices or guac, lettuce, tomatoes, and beans, or the taco salad with just veggies, beans and guac. It's basically the same ingredients in all, just served a few different ways. And every time, it hits the spot! The warm tortilla chips are addictive, the margaritas are really strong, and the atmosphere is fun. (Oh, and order the beans with no cheese... they normally come with shredded cheese on top)

I was pretty impressed with this place. The chef came out and talked with us about the vegan options and even said that if we call ahead in the future, he could make a vegan lasagna or something for a group of people. It's not that often that I find a place that is so accommodating. The Italian bread was delicious and they make it fresh daily, the bruceta was terrific, and the pasta dish I got was light, simple, and amazing. The perfect place for a date or a nice dinner with friends.

I love that they deliver on bikes. I love that they have 3 vegan pizzas. I love that they have mini pizzas. I love that they have awesome bread sticks. And I love that they now have soy cheese (even if it's just sprinkled on top of toppings.

They have great vegan options, but it sucks when it comes to the table with cheese on it. Other than that, the food is great, the portions are huge, brunch is awesome, but waiting an hour for a table is nuts.

The Fat Vegan is the best sandwich. My only complaint is that it should be 3 sandwiches.

Honeypie Cafe in Milwaukee, Wisconsin

The pie is excellent. Their breakfast options are really lacking. I had a tofu scramble burrito thing, and the tofu was wet and mushy and tasted awful. Their sandwiches are pretty good, but when they can't do vegan fries, you have to pay more for a pathetic side salad. We've always gotten great service there, but apparently the cooks absolutely hate cooking vegan food, so it's become the last place I want to dine.

I've gotten pizza here a few times and it's excellent! They're very happy to accommodate their vegan customers. My personal favorites are the vegan pepperoni pizza and the vegan mac and cheese pizza (best with a side of marinara for dipping!). Their options aren't posted on the wall menu, so ask what they can do when you come in. The employees are very personable and friendly, and they always seem happy to help or offer options. The food is prepared pretty quickly too! They offer delivery, but I'm not entirely sure what their delivery area is. I know that if you live in Bay View, the location downtown will deliver as far south as Oklahoma!

This place is great for people who want the kitsch of an urban Mexican restaurant. I've never been impressed with the food and every single time I've gone there, I've been surrounded by obnoxious people who don't have inside voices.

This place has the best vegan pizza I've ever had in my life. I got Dan's Vegan Pizza and it was amazing. The appetizer of bread and dipping sauces is also spectacular! The wait is a bit long, but they make all of the dough fresh, so it's well worth it. Great place for a date, or for a group outing. I can't wait to go back.

I've been dying to go here for months, I've heard such good things. I finally got a group of friends from work together (all of them are meat-eaters) and everyone loved it. I had the veggie jambalaya and cajun fries. Holy awesome! The tofu in the dish was smoked, which is an instant gold star for me. The fries were these awesome potato grease bombs that rocked my world. I usually try to avoid greasy food, but sometimes you just have to treat yourself! The atmosphere was great, waitstaff were very friendly, and the food was quite tasty. Highly recommended for a date or for a fun group of people.

I had the lentil soup and the vegetable biryani. Both were good, but the soup needed some salt. Unfortunately, the server said that none of the bread was vegan (all of it contains milk). Very good for a nice night out.

I went there for brunch and got the tofu scramble with peppers and onions. The only vegan bread they had was gluten-free and tasted awful. I had to eat that dry with the scramble, which wasn't cooked well and was really bland. I was happy to find another place that was vegan-friendly, but it seemed like they just weren't trying very hard.

It's a great place to drink and hang out with friends, but after a while, the food all starts to taste the same. Last time I ate there, I threw up after having 2 tuffalo wings, so I'm done.

Pizza Shuttle in Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Dec 19 07

My friends and I have boycotted this place. True, it's great if you want a sobering 2AM order of breadsticks or soggy pizza (once it came with bacon), but the food is really not that great. It also doesn't help that the staff are always stoned and don't know how to keep Parmesan cheese off of your food. I had countless problems with Pizza Shuttle and refuse to ever give them another dollar of my money.

Riverwest Co-op & Cafe in Milwaukee, Wisconsin

The food is excellent, but make sure you stress dairy or soy cheese (the cooks usually look a little stoned), cause twice, I got dairy (i'm vegan) and didn't realize it until after a couple bites. The breakfast, however, is the best vegan breakfast in the city! Chocolate chip pancakes, vanilla french toast, biscuits and gravy, oh my!

Their pizza is fantastic! The wait staff is also very good with suggesting vegan options and answering any questions. They use Chicago Soy Dairy's new vegan cheese which is more clumpy and creamy and adds a nice richness to the pizza and it's more than just a sprinkling of shredded cheese that you get at Classic Slice. I never thought of putting avocado on pizza, now I'm never gonna have pizza without it!

This was such a great lunch spot! I had the vegan avocado Reuben and it was amazing! I can't wait to go back this summer and sample more of the menu! What a relief to have a vegan-friendly place to eat in Door County!
