I too had to pout after my fancypants birthday dinner because of the lack of vegan entres. The ambiance was fancy-stuffy rather than fancy-cool, the crowd was mid-forties/fifties, and the waitstaff made my date and I feel uncomfortable.
I think this is really a nice fish place for your parents, if that is what you are into.
I'd just like to remind everyone that chipotle is a McDonalds chain restaurant.
Sorry guys, but I've eaten at a lot of vegetarian chinese places and this one isn't so good. The food is sub-standard chinese fair (ie, brown sauce or white sauce)and the gluten meat substitute is excessively chewy and dry. It's really too bad, because I was really excited about the menu and the staff is super sweet. I would honestly stick with your favorite chinese place and ask them to substitute with tofu.
While it isn't the luxury of all-vegan Millenium in San Fran, this place is definately vegan friendly and a great place for a fancy gourmet dinner.Last time I went, I had tempeh cutlets, vegan mashed potatoes, greens covered with a mango gravy - in a fancy presentation. They have 1/2 price bottles of wine during the week, including organic bottles. And have nummy vegan baked goods and desserts.
Brunch is ok for vegans - they have a respectable vegan reuben and two tofu sandwiches. I am not sure about breakfast goods beyond bakery items.
Oh sweet punk rock pub grub. this is my fav place to get a vegan sloppy joe, beer, and watch people in leather.

My partner and I go almost weekly for the $20 price fix for two menu Mon-Thurs. You get a half carafe of wine, salad, and plate of basic pasta. Great upscale vibe, we love sitting on the bar/counter because you can watch the staff preparing pasta.
Don't go expecting fake cheese or vegan desserts, but the price and fancy vibe are a plus.
