I was excited to try this restaurant to see how different it'd be from Buddha's Delight Too, the previous occupant. They definitely improved the ambiance a bit - cute place setting, dishes, and fresh flowers at every table. The menu was decent, but still reminiscent of Buddha's Delight.
We were really disappointed with the service. My husband's food came out within a reasonable amount of time. I waited for mine for over forty minutes. The server never once came by to see how we were doing, or to tell us why my food was taking so long.
When I finally flagged someone down to explain that my food had not yet arrived, she said, "Oh, yeah. There's a problem in the kitchen," and then turned around and left. She didn't apologize, or tell me what the problem was, or ask if there was anything she could get for us while we waited. We're very understanding people; sometimes problems happen! We just wish they had made SOME effort to make us happy as we waited for my food. A timely apology and explanation would have gone a long way with us.
About five minutes after my frustrating interaction with the server, my pad thai arrived. It was pretty good. The sauce had a nice heat level and the "chicken" was great. Unfortunately I was too frustrated to really enjoy it.
To top it all off, they never brought us the tea we ordered. Not a big deal on its own, but it certainly didn't help our opinion of this place.
The food was definitely decent, and at first we were excited to try the fun looking desserts in the pastry case. By the time I was done eating we couldn't wait to get out of there. I hope I just caught them on a bad night - if this is how they usually treat their customers I can't imagine they will last long!
