best all vegetarian restaurant in the pioneer valley. it's great home-cooking. very balanced vegan meals. i love the black eyed peas.
this is a great place, i have lived all over the country and only in minneapolis have i found such awesome vegan biscuits and gravy. they are SO delicious.
the only problem with hard times is that you often have to wait a very long time to get your food. it can get very busy in there and there is usually only one person cooking. but if you have the time it is definitely worth the wait.
PLEASE try the mock duck spring rolls. the mock duck is a little bit warm, and they are served with delicious peanut sauce and very fresh greens.
the twin cities have so many delicious thai options, that i will never go here again. the food was very greasy and bland. the pad thai was terrible.
i lived in las vegas in 2004 and relied a lot on take-out. this is one of the most reliable, healthy vegan places in town. i love the vegan egg salad and the bbq tofu. the bbq tofu is very oily unless you ask for it to be made with less oil. every lunch item comes with a delicious fresh salad (with yummy shredded beets!) and great chips and salsa. in a very vegan/veggie-unfriendly town, this makes life more bearable for the non-meat eaters.
one of the best thai restaurants i have ever been to (in the country!). i think they make something called vegan golden baskets. so yummy.
i've had vegan baked goods from places like this in other cities, and this one didn't stack up. the frosting tastes too much like margarine. i'd expect to find a similar product in a regular bakery as the only vegan item. for a vegan specialty shop, it should be better. for the price, its not worth it. try vegan treats (from PA) instead.
also, the service people were snooty and they give vegans a bad name by acting like veganism is a club.
i went here for the first time on a snowy night in 2004. the atmosphere was so cozy and inviting. among top-notch gourmet vegan restaurants i have been to around the country (millennium, san Francisco; greens, san francisco; horizons, philly) candle 79 is the best one. i had the seitan piccatta, it was to die for. we had appetizers, wine, deserts and coffee and everything was fantastic. of course it is a special treat to go here (we spent $160 for 2 people), but once every few years, it is worth it. if you are going to spend a lot of money, this is the place to do it.
the vegan chili cheese fries are so delicious. unfortunately they are not totally vegan because they have casien. however, the first time i had them i did not know that, and they were so good that i now make an exception with the casien when i am in town. other great items are the bbq tempeh, tofu and seitan, with mashed potatoes and greens. vegan cheescake for desert is delicious.
the bar is great, cheap. however, if you are looking for good, authentic ethiopian food, do not eat here. it is soggy, greasy, not fresh, and the injera is not good either. i don't know why the restaurant gets so much attention, it is terrible.
best place in philly to get vegan treats (from bethlehem). the regular menu is not that great.
very good vegan gourmet. my favorite is the bbq seitan. also try the mojitos. very delicious fresh mint and lime, the best in the city. deserts are hit or miss (for the prices).

not a great place to spend a lot as a vegan, better to go to millennium. however, the atmosphere is beautiful. very good place if you are not vegan.
