This is a good place to stop for drinks. But I would be very cautious about even the vegetarian status of their 'vegiburgers.' I think its fair to assume they grill them together with meat. Vegans--forget about it. Its got a real good working class and neighborhood feel to it; really down to earth. Yet, one cook is pretty rude. He always hangs outside and jumps into your conversations. I think he's often drunk. One time he even threatened to punch me in the face. I laughed it off and some bartender reprimanded him upon overhearing it. The rest of the staff are REALLY nice.

i think its important to stress how many vegan options the seward cafe offers. TONNS! Practically half of the huge menu. yay. I live a few blocks from seward and go there at least a few times a week. The best thing though: worker owned and managed--no fucking boss! You can be certain most of the food is local, organic, and all is vegan as most of the people that work there are very conscious. word.
