Bangkok Thai in Salt Lake City, Utah

Bangkok Thai has the largest vegetarian menu in the city. They can make almost all of these items vegan and they are clearly marked. Make sure to ask for the vegetarian menu. They also prepare and cook the vegan items completely separate from the meat items. They only use the freshest ingredients. This is probably the safest restaurant to eat at for GLUTEN-FREE foods, also. My favorite dish is the spicy mint noodle. Some people I know say they have had bad service there, but the service has always been great for me. I suggest you go on Monday nights when they have "Meatless Mondays" because all vegetarian/vegan meals are $7.99.

I like Barbacoa because it's always fresh and tasty. Their burrito bowls are great, filling and inexpensive. They don't seem to mind that I always get both kinds of beans and all three salsas. Gluten-free friendly, too.

Cakewalk Vegan Shoppe in Salt Lake City, Utah

Cakewalk is the only vegan-owned and operated bakery in SLC. Their products are great, but I do not go here much anymore because I am not satisfied with their gluten-free options. Whenever I have placed special orders, though, they have always been delicious. This is also the only place I know that carries the fabulous Sheese Cheese and other hard-to-find vegan options.

City Cakes & Cafe in Salt Lake City, Utah

City Cakes & Cafe's deserts are currently all vegan, as are most of their products, with the exception of cow's milk for coffee. They have a few gluten-free options each days, as well. By the way, the Cakewalk23 rating is a competitor of City Cakes. Both places offer amazing deserts.

Evergreen House Cafe in Salt Lake City, Utah

Evergreen recently moved in with the Golden Phoenix Restaurant, but have their own separate dining area. This location seems much cleaner, which is certainly a plus for me. I have not always loved their food, but almost everybody else does, so you should try it out.

I love their vegetable thukpa and chow-chow. The thukpa is an excellent soup for when you're sick and both these dishes can be made gluten-free. Their menu is very easy to read and indicates what is vegan and gluten-free. The lunch buffet also indicates these things.

I love House of Tibet! This is my favorite restaurant to go to in Salt Lake City and the family that owns this restaurant are knowledgable and very helpful with ordering vegan dishes, as well as catering to other dietary issues. Their lunch buffet always has plenty of vegan options and they have many vegan dishes on the dinner menu, also. I mostly go there for dinner because it is inexpensive and I get the potato hot garlic dish, which is amazing.

Oasis Cafe is one of the nicest vegan friendly restaurants in Salt Lake. The menu changes with the seasons, but always includes vegan options. The food has always been delicious. My husband and I go to Oasis Cafe for special occasions or just to have a nice meal.

Royal India in Salt Lake City, Utah

Royal India is my absolute favorite restaurant. They have the best Indian food and the service is great. They serve Northern Indian food and have a few Southern Indian selections. The owner and his father know exactly which dishes can be made vegan. They have always been extremely helpful. One of my vegan friends does not eat onions and garlic and has always been accommodated. If you are getting bread try the poori. I also suggest you try the masala dosa.

I went here for the first time yesterday and I hope to go back. There were several Indians eating there, which suggests it is more authentic then many other Indian restaurants. I got the corn pakoras and they were amazing. My non-vegan friends thought this was the best dish of at our table. You can also get dosas for $6.00 to $8.00.

I went there once and it was okay, went there again and got food poisoning. Could be a fluke, I don't know, but I will never go back.

Union Street Eats has amazing tacos. I always get the La Paz tacos combo and this is what made me start liking temph. So good!
