The EEFC is the only Co-op in Pgh. The salad bar has lots of fresh, organic ingredients, with wonderful vegan dressings. There is also a smoothie bar, and all of the home made soups are vegan. My favorite bakery item is the vegan ginger chocolate chip cookie.

The Spinach dish that you are referring to is Kassab's version of Sleek. It's quite good.

FYI: Kassab's has moved to 12th and E.Carson (where Rustica used to be)

I used to go to the Mad Mex in Oakland about once/month when I was in college. Lunch is half off from 2-4 for college students. For about $6 (tip extra) you get enough food for lunch and dinner. The Oakland location can get rather loud and smoky. I prefer the Greentree location.

Maggie's is a completely vegan restaurant that uses fresh, organic ingredients that are grown in Maggie's own Green House. It's a bit pricey. They are now located in Stahlstown (off the PA turnpike) and in Oakland. The peppermint choc. cake is my fave. dessert.

The spicy fries are delicious. Bring a friend along to share them as you'll receive enough for 2!

I used to love the veg. chicken, but one of the servers told me that it's made with egg whites. I requested it without the egg whites and it didn't taste nearly as good.

Zen Garden is now known as Hunan Kitchen. They are no longer completely vegetarian. They have three different restaraunts, however only the restaraunt in Squirrel Hill has an extensive vegan/vegetarian menu. I highly recommend the Orange and Sesame Gluten. You get large portions of your entree, plus a spring roll during lunch for only $6.00!

Sunday morning brunch is fantastic. For only $10 you have an all you can eat vegan buffet.

I've only been there once, but I loved the atmosphere and they had a lot of vegan options.

Very relaxing atmosphere. The best Indian food I've ever eaten. Ask for a vegan menu, and if you like spinach try the palak tofu.
