All organic, vegan, gluten-free, allergy aware all in one place? Wow! After reading the reviews about Casa de Luz on vegguide, I decided to take my whole family out for breakfast at Casa de Luz. We loved the food and will be going back as often as we can!
My family, of eight, suffers from severe allergies. My aunts, uncles and cousins all have severe food allergies. Each individual in our family has a mixture of allergies. In total when we eat out we have to take into consideration all of the following allergies: all grains, wheat, gluten, milk, eggs, soy, legumes, beans, peanuts, basil, cayenne pepper, dried spices, bananas, strawberries, watermelon, cantaloupe, and all seafood. It is not easy finding a great place that can cater to so many people with different allergies.
Our entire family rejoiced! The buffet contained organic, whole foods that were easily identifiable for our two, four and six year old twins! They did not have to stop and ask, "Daddy can I eat that?" Hallelujah! I love Casa de Luz. I wish the whole earth was filled with Casa de Luzes! We love the kid friendly environment!
The food was absolutely everything we had hoped for and read about from the previous reviewer! Thank you for taking the time to review Casa de Luz. We would have never know how wonderful their establishment was if it wasn't for you! Bless you!
The atmosphere in Bangkok City is date night worthy. They have a special section on their menu for vegetarians, but it is also easily made vegan! Yeah! The waitress told me they could make any dish vegetarian or vegan with no problem. The staff was very professional and friendly. The establishment was clean and inviting.
A group of friends and I had lunch here. We ordered: Pad-Pak a mixed sauteed vegetable in a light sauce with sesame oil $11, Pad-Woon-Sen (Clear bean thread noodles) with vegetables $11, Vegetable Pad-Thai noodles without egg $11, Vegan Thai Style Vegetable Fried Rice $10 and Mango Sticky Rice Dessert $6. Everything was delicious! I will go back.
Lunch was inexpensive and the portions were huge! We had left overs. We ate the mango sticky rice for dessert $6.
Yummy original vegan Mexican options! Bee Enchiladeria's menu has a little heart symbol to denote all the vegan options on the menu! My friend and I have been here three times now. We both enjoyed the blue corn enchiladas stuffed with tofu and quinoa, chaytoe squash veggie mix and the sweet potato enchilada! Everyday they have a different vegan special on their board. We liked the raw yellow bell pepper amarillo sauce. Every enchilada plate comes with vegan black beans and rice. Bee's is a 20 minute drive from where I live, but the food is worth it.
I love Bliss Raw Cafe & Elixir Bar! I have been a vegan for 2 years but I have only been a raw vegan for 3 months. I ordered the delicious kale salads, heirloom tomato lasagna and raw chocolate pie! I have died and gone to heaven! I will be back for more!
Delicious food. The atmosphere is clean and relaxing. The restrooms are clean and tidy. I am so happy they have raw vegan food! I am allergic to soy and beans.
I love the raw very berry smoothie, the raw pizza and raw fruit pie! They were fabulous. Plano is a one hour drive from where I live, but when I am in the neighborhood again I will stop by.
I took a large group of friends here for lunch. I am allergic to milk, eggs, soy and wheat. The waiter told us that most entrees can be made vegan. The nan bread is made with milk. So we substituted brown rice.
We ordered : samosas, lentil soup, the taco trinity, dharma bell and I hate eggplant. The taco trinity and dharma bell were my favorites. We could not eat any of the desserts because they all had milk, eggs or soy.
The entree servings are very large and you will have left overs unless you order from the celestial light offerings side of the menu. My friends said they would go back.
Very vegan friendly Mexican burrito joint. The service is great and very fast. Who needs to go through a drive through? Who would want to? For the price of a fast food burger without the fries or drink, you can get a healthy, homemade, vegan, gigantic burrito and raw salad! I love Freebird's Word Burrito. My meal stretched. I had enough left overs for dinner and lunch the next day. Pure deliciousness!
My co-workers and I love this place. They are not vegans but when I say lets go eat at Kalachanji's they all jump. The restaurant is buffet style and is located inside the temple. The staff are very polite and professional and the atmosphere is worthy of a date night out.
There is a board that indicates which foods have milk and wheat in them to help those who have allergies. The food is perfectly spiced vegetarian Indian food with many, many options for vegans.
The food is all vegan and inexpensive. Part of the proceeds go to help animal welfare organizations. I had the guru curry with brown rice! Delicious!
I am glad that more healthy restaurants like Sweet Tomatoes and Snappy Salads are opening in Texas. Snappy Salads does have vegan options. Most of the salads have meat or cheese. You just have to request no cheese or meat to make it vegan.
I ordered a baked potato and small salad and spent $16 for lunch. For my money I would rather go to Whole Foods Market and select from their organic food bars! But if I am not close to a Whole Foods Market or a Sweet Tomatoes I would not hesitate to get a small salad from Snappy Salads.
I love that Spiral Diner & Bakery have a special menu for customers with soy and wheat allergies! We drove 20 minutes to come eat at the Spiral Diner. The atmosphere is a classic 50s style American diner vibe. But everything is vegan and organic whenever possible! Joy! My husband and I love Spiral Diner's raw chocolate pie! All the food at Spiral Diner is delicious.
If you want a very special or romantic date night atmosphere I recommend the upscale vegan V-Spot cafe.
Delicious vegan Chinese food. My husband and I came here for our date night. After reading the review about Suma Veggie Cafe we watched for the vegan bumper sticker on the back of the delivery car.
The female owner is so kind and her husband is also very friendly. I really enjoyed chatting with them while we ate. They pride themselves on their vegan food and spoke passionately about their efforts to veganize all their sauces. The owner said for years she had a regular Chinese restaurant but they switched to vegan.
We loved the steamed broccoli, ma-po tofu and vegetable curry. My husband works close to Suma Veggie Cafe. He said the lunch buffet is a great deal.
I am a raw food vegan with several allergies. When I travel I always try to eat organic foods at a Whole Foods or if I can't find one my second choice is to find a Sweet Tomatoes. Sweet Tomatoes has a vegan, gluten-free, and allergy friendly eating guide pamphlet. The all you can eat salad, soup and baked good buffet is a great deal!!! Sweet Tomatoes changes their salads, soups, pasta salads and baked goods every two weeks. There menu is online. Also, the buffet clearly marks what is vegetarian or vegan.
I really love the raw kale salad, vegan cabbage and potato soup, and their whole fresh fruit for dessert. I am allergic to wheat so I haven't tried their baked goods but my friends said they are yummy.
I have been to every vegan and vegetarian restaurant in the Dallas area that has been reviewed on vegguide. I give Sweet Tomatoes second place when judging only on the salad bar. I enjoyed eating here with my husband and friends.
FYI, because I am a raw food vegan, my favorite place to go for lunch is Whole Foods on Abrams! The food bars are very vegan and allergy friendly with detailed lists of every ingredient. They have a lot of vegan soups and vegan options in their ready made food bar. An organic vegan soup and half a vegan sandwich is $6.99. I like to compile a large raw vegan salad from the bar for $7.99 a pound. I love Whole Foods bars!
The food is delicious and the staff is very professional and kind. I agree with the other reviewer. The lunch buffet is great because there are vegan options and you can eat as much of the food as you want. But the dinner entrees are very small portions and it gets expensive very fast.
The food is vegan Chinese. Mostly deep fried soy mock meats with a sprinkle of vegetables. The buffet is worth the money. But beware if you love your raw greens, you will find that the salad bar on the buffet is pitiful for a vegan establishment!
My friends love greasy Chinese and said they did not miss the meat. Veggie Garden serves healthy brown rice and they have a few healthier veggie options that are the same price as the mock meat entrees. If you do not have a wheat or soy allergy I think you will enjoy your meal at Veggie Garden.
Hands down the best place in all the Dallas area to get an organic, raw salad. Whole Foods on Abrams has the largest selection of vegan salad bar, vegan soups, and vegan deli items. The price is right. I love the brown rice vegan sushi. I am absolutely mad about the raw vegan grape gazpacho soup! I adore the raw vegan zucchini lasagna! I also love the Health Starts Here no oil grilled vegetables and steamed kale. Delicious. Whole Foods is my favorite place to go for lunch or a quick healthy organic dinner! Viva Whole Foods!
