Geneva is firmly in the francophone world, and as such many restauranteur have been a bit slow to come around to the notion that some of us just don't eat any meat, so in general you might make it a rule of thumb to ask "ca c'est vegitarienne?" just to avoid unpleasant surprises.
That said, there are a growing number of places which offer vegetarian main courses and set-menues, and a few places which actually go out of their way cater to vegans.
