Olympic Cafe is a fine option for vegetarians in Kaua'i, reasonably priced, and with a wide selection of vegetarian items (some can be made vegan) on the menu. I gravitate toward their very large salads on each visit, in particular the Tropical Salad ($12.50), asking them to leave out the chicken. The salad is big enough for an entire meal even for a hungry diner, has healthy whole food ingredients, and is quite delicious -- organic mixed greens, avocado, cucumbers, tomatoes, papaya, macadamia nuts, and a papaya seed vinaigrette. Any of their 7 burger options can be made with a Gardenburger patty, and there are vegetarian options for sandwiches, burritos, pasta, and omelets. The open air balcony view overlooking Kapa'a main street is an added attraction.

Stumbled upon this place walking through Kapa'a town. It's located upstairs, across the street from an ABC store. I ate breakfast there with a companion. I had "Kim's Scramble" which I substituted tofu for egg and requested no cheese. Cubed tofu, bell peppers, tomatoes, onions, tarragon and other herbs. I had papaya as a side and my companion had home-fried breakfast potatoes.

Not too bad, though I'm used to a more true "tofu scramble" with crumbled tofu instead of warmed cubes of tofu. The views are great and the atmosphere is relaxed.

I ate there on a separate day and had a veggie wrap with tofu and no cheese. Tasty! My companion had the Thai wrap with veggies, tofu and peanut sauce. Tofu in the wraps comes FRESH, not fried or cooked, FYI. I thought it was delicious.

I should also note that for travelers with jet lag, this place opens the earliest and has a bloody mary bar.
