Eclectic (Varied)
Hip and veg-friendly Mediterranean hot spot
Pita Jungle is quite possibly the most popular vegetarian-friendly restaurant in the Phoenix metro area. Actually, there’s three locations.
The one in Tempe caters mostly to a younger crowd (mostly ASU students and an under-30 crowd), and has a more lively, bustling atmosphere. (This location has expanded in size, and it can now accommodate large groups.)
Whereas the Chandler location is more sedate and attracts a slightly older, more upscale crowd.
The one is Scottsdale is a combination of both!
As for the food, and how it relates to vegetarians, you’ll have a wide variety of choices, with a Middle Eastern slant.
For breakfast, they'll cook you up such things as tofu scrambled eggs or vegan pancakes.
For lunch and dinner, appetizers include hummus, red bell pepper hummus, baba ganoush, dolmas, garlic potato dip, etc.
For entrees/sandwiches, there’s plenty for vegetarians to choose from: numerous pizzas, salads, huge pita bread sandwiches (such as the vegetable pita and the mixed bean pita), and regular sandwiches on whole-grain bread (including the standard veggie burger, a black bean burger, and a portobella mushroom burger).
Side orders for vegetarians include lentils and brown rice and some very tasty seasoned green beans (that most people would probably never think to order - are they missing out!).
It seems that there really is something for everyone at Pita Jungle!
Portion sizes usually lean toward the large and prices toward the inexpensive side. No wonder this place is so popular!

Great food, decent atmosphere, an ample amount of vegetarian choices.
Lots of healthy choices for vegans. I would add some nutrition information to make it perfect.
Pita Jungle shares a strip mall with an eclectic variety of businesses (a smoke shop, kung fu parlor, and a pizza joint) which prepared me for a typical hole-in-the-wall counter-dining experience. I was pleasantly surprised to find a warm, tastefully decorated interior, expansive menu, and friendly waiters. The place bills itself as a server of healthy fare, so it was no surprise to find at least half of the dishes were vegetarian--and many of those were vegan. My wife enjoyed a Pita Burrito and I had traditional hummus and tabouleh over pitas. If you've always shied away from pita bread, the Pita Jungle is the place to get an introduction. The pitas were soft, chewy, and flavorful. All in all, the food was very reasonably priced. If I lived in the area, I know I'd be coming back for more.
Pita Jungle has a decent regular menu, including my favorite hummus in town, but what the Tempe location really has going for it is an incredible breakfast menu that includes many, many vegan options. Vegan crepes? I never thought I'd see those in a restaurant! And they are wonderful! They have so many breakfast options I've been eating out far more often than I normally like to. I find their breakfast menu really shines for them.
I visited Pita Jungle for the first time last night, and I totally fell in love with it. The atmosphere is awesome, and the food is to die for! I am for sure going back to Pita Jungle!
What an amazing restaurant! Great vegetarian choices (and even something for my carnivore brother). Best hummus, and vegan pizzas. It has a really interesting decor and an extremely good looking staff. Great music on as well. GO!
Pita Jungle has the best tabbouleh and dolmas I've ever had. Every other vegetarian dish I've tried has been fantastic as well and they have a great variety of healthy, vegetarian foods!

There are many choices on the menu for vegetarians and vegans. I have had some problems with slow and rude service.
