Sunflower Vegetarian Restaurant

American, Chinese, Japanese
All-vegetarian, mostly vegan pan-Asian fare
Sunflower is a 100% vegetarian restaurant with many dishes that look and taste like real meat, poultry and seafood. Our menu features Japanese, Chinese and Continental style dishes; however, our preparations are as far removed from traditional foods because we constantly strive to maintain the highest qualities in health, taste and conservation.
For example, we use only the best quality ingredients in our dishes. Many selective items are imported directly from their original sources in order to ensure the quality of the products. We make dishes to order with fresh ingredients and vegetable substitutes for "mock" meat, poultry and seafood. Everything is free of MSG, and only organic flavor enhancers (i.e., kelp powder, kombu, sea salt, gomashio, barley malt, brown rice syrup, vegetable stock, fresh nature root vegetables, and filtered water for drinking and cooking) are used in our dishes. It's more expensive and time-consuming to prepare, but these are reasons why Sunflower is truly special and unique.
Take VA Route 123 South from Route 7 or the Capital Beltway (I-495), cross Nutley St and turn left into the parking lot. It's right next to McDonald's, ironically enough. If coming from the South, take Route 123 North from I-66, it'll be on your right.

This is my FAVORITE restaurant!! It is very small, decorated cute with sunflower items EVERYWHERE and the food is the most amazing I've ever had! Some of my favorite dishes are: General Tso's Suprise, Wheat Gluten with Black Bean Sauce, Sunflower Satisfaction and I should mention the hubby's favorite: Golden Nugget. Everything is always fresh and organic and just the best you've ever had!! They have a pretty large menu selection and fresh fruit and veggie juices as well as a dessert menu. You must try it!

I highly recommend the Vienna location over the Falls Church one. I seem to always get better food, larger portions and friendlier service at the Vienna branch. The Falls Church branch is more spacious, but the quality (and portion!) of the food is more important.
