Birdbath Bakery is an eco-friendly bakery that began offering vegan items, including chocolate chip cookies, oatmeal raisin cookies, and sometimes has vegan muffins and cakes. Vegan items are clearly marked.
Birdbath Bakery has walls made of wheat, (biodegradable) cups made of corn, countertop displays and shelves made of 100% recycled paper, and is 100% wind-powered. Their floors are made of reclaimed wood from Pennsylvania, and the stains and steelers for the wood are water-based. The paint (both indoor and outdoor) is non-toxic, and they use vintage light fixtures with energy-saving bulbs. Birdbath uses local ingredients whenever possible and they even compost! This location also receives its baked goods from their East Village location (by bicycle-driven cargo, of course).
This location is slightly larger than the East Village location so it has seating for a few people. They also have a lovely hand-washing station open to the public.
