nearly-veg Indian restaurant
Chennai calls itself a "vegetarian and Kosher" restaurant, but they serve 4 or 5 fish dishes. Aside from that, they have a huge selection of vegetarian items, and even has a separate vegan section and marks vegan items in every section of the menu. Note that there are some vegan items (for instance, most of the rices) that are not specifically marked as being vegan.
Chennai specializes in Southern Indian cuisine and vegan items include: dosas, utthappam (rice and lentil pancake), pumpkin curry, spinach tofu curry, mixed vegetable masala, and more. They also offer a number of vegan salads and appetizers (such as samosas, steamed dumplings, fried potato balls, and lentil doughnuts).
Most menu items are about $8 or $9 and appetizers are around $4 or $5. Chennai offers an all-you-can-eat buffet during the week for $6.95, but also has it on the weekend for $7.99. The buffet includes 4 kinds of vegetable dishes, basmati rice, fresh bread, two salads, fresh fruit, and various chutneys.
