A small, cheerful, and very veg-friendly Vietnamese restaurant
Restaurant, Caterer
Jasmine Deli is a small, very clean, and cheerfully bright Vietnamese restaurant. The owners have done a great job at accomodating vegetarians, and basically everything on the menu can be made vegetarian, including noodle soups, sandwiches, noodle salads, and rice dishes. The prices are quite low, with most entrees in the $5-6 range.
They also offer some traditional desserts, like warm sticky rice wrapped around banana, and rice flour balls filled with coconut and peanuts.
Bring cash or your checkbook when you visit, because they don't take credit cards.

The Banh Mi is okay, though it isn't filling. Without knowing how this sandwich "should" taste, I prefer the Hard Times Cafe version.
Other than that, I've only tried mock duck noodle salad ($7.44). Delicious. I wasn't too excited about this place after trying to make a meal out of the sandwiches, but this salad has got me interested in the rest of the menu. Compared to nearby restaurants of similar fare (Quang, Pho tau bay), Jasmine deli is far better without being more expensive.

Biked here on Saturday for a quick lunch and we were NOT disappointed. A small, unassuming place. Not especially clean, but an attentive staff was ready for us. I had the curry mock duck sandwich, which seemed to be the only vegetarian sandwich option. It hit the spot. I had been craving this combo for years, having not really sought it out since living in Portland 10 years ago. My girl had the mock duck noodle soup. She didn't even have to ask and the waiter announced that this soup was vegan. She commented that it's nice to find a flavorful, clear broth. Often times you feel like they just "pour hot water in the bowl". Not this time. Good stuff!
