Japanese Restaurant
An authentically Japanese (non-sushi) restaurant that has two menus: one for veggies, the other for omnivores. Many items on the veggie menu are vegan.
East Side of Campbell, south of Glenn.

My favorite Japanese restaurant in Tucson! They offer a several vegetarian/vegan options, and the atmosphere is great! For any non vegans, their green tea ice cream is a must. The most delicious desert without being overly sweet. Try it, you'll like it!
Yoshimatsu actually does include a sushi house--Sushimatsu, which is located to the right of the entry. Sushimatsu is a traditional sit-and-order restaurant, and not only were the vegan (and veg) items clearly marked, they were large (the rolls were enormous; I hadn't expected that) and filling, and very good. I had some unusual 2-piece sushi that I haven't seen available anywhere else, like mushroom and asparagus. The rice is very sticky and super delicious. The iced green tea is so good and refills are unlimited.
I enjoy Yoshimatsu's food, as well (once again all vegan/veg items are clearly marked). The yam noodles are really yummy, and I love the traditional bento boxes.
Yoshimatsu used to serve consistently fantastic food. Although they did not have an expanded vegan/veg menu, their select options were so delicious! In the past few months, however I've noticed a decline in the quality of food. I've been going there for over a year and a half and am sorely disappointed by this. I'm not sure if anyone else has noticed.
Apparently this is one of the most popular places with the other users of this website, but I didn't really go crazy for it. The service was friendly and the ambiance was unique, and vegan items were clearly marked on the menu.
However, there really didn't seem to be too many vegan items, and the only one that sounded appetizing to me was the ginger tofu. It was pretty good but I can make something at home that's even better. I just wasn't very impressed.
I am very obviously in the minority, so my opinion probably isn't worth much -- check it out and decide for yourself.
This is one of the best restaurants in Tucson! I bring all out-of-town guests here because Yoshimatsu is such a unique and delicious place. They have all been pleased. The environment is quite different from other Japanese restaurants. You feel like you are in Japan, or at least as close to it as you can be on this side of the world. The menu is expanded from what you would see in a traditional Americanized-Japanese restaurant. There are plenty of vegetarian (and vegan) options to choose from, all tasty.
Yoshimatsu is amazing! This is the best place in Tucson for vegetarian sushi. They have so many different options. They even had a tempura veg sushi that was deep fried, my husband loved it!
I really like this place. I agree with Suzanne, the Ginger Tofu Bento Box was great. The prices are reasonable and service was very friendly. The atmosphere is really nice, relaxed with heavy dark wooden tables and chopsticks at the tables (no need to ask for them!) The menu on the wall was a bit confusing for me at first, but when I found that I liked, I was very pleased.
I'm still learning to like Japanese food, but Yoshimatsu makes it easy. They have a separate vegetarian menu with the vegan dishes clearly marked.
The restaurant is pretty big, but every time I've gone it's been packed. But service is quick and the prices are affordable.
The ginger tofu bento box is recommended. One of my very non-veg friends (who is kind of afraid of tofu) liked it, which says something.

One of my two favorites in Tucson (the other being Lovin Spoonfuls). I love seaweed and would recommend the seaweed salad, the tofu/mushroom udon, or the tofu hamburger bento. There's also an entire vegetarian/vegan menu in the adjoining sushi restaurant, Sushimatsu, but it's kind of pricey. Some people think this place is bland but I like this style of food because it's nourishing.. plenty of tofu and veggies and not much processed food. The atmosphere is nice and the service is fast and friendly.
