Originally started in Dallas, Cosmic Cafe opened an Austin location around the beginning of 2006 after buying out the vegetarian restaurant, West Lynn Cafe, which used to occupy that building. Cosmic serves vegetarian food with several vegan options and has an offering of vegan cakes for dessert.
Directions:
From MoPac (Loop 1), take Enfield east until you get to West Lynn. Turn right (south). Cosmic is at the corner of 11th and West Lynn. From I-35, take 15th street until it turns into Enfield. Turn left (south) on West Lynn.

Cosmic Cafe originally started in Dallas, but opened up a location in Austin in the old West Lynn Cafe building. After doing a lot of beautiful remodeling to the interior (wonderful murals, paintings, etc.), they offer a unique and relaxing environment with lots of delicious Indian foods. I highly recommend the dahl as well as the vegan cakes (though not all their cakes are vegan, so be mindful). The food is always good, and they occasionally have live music.
