Sticky Fingers shows a lot of promise. I tried a few of their offerings, including a strawberry shortcake cupcake, a chocolate cheesecake, a cranberry scone, and a chai latte. The shortcake had a great fluffy texture, but was slightly too sweet; the cheesecake was good, but would have been better if fresh; the scone was excellent; and the chai was bland and flat. I'll definitely visit again, just to see how much better they get, but for the moment, they're off to a good start.

I really like their new location--it's bright, clean, has clever decor, and it has plenty of seating. I think a lot of their desserts are pretty average (I prefer Vegan Treats out of PA), but their chili cheese dog is REALLY good. I also like the Cowvin cookie sandwich but it's a bit sweet for me.

I went to their new location and I liked how big and spacious it was. It's nice that you can sit down and enjoy your sweets. I got their new "egg" salad sandwich and their "egg sausage" sandwich and both were great! I tried their soft serve in December 2006 and didn't like it; it was watery. But they now carry Temptation soft serve which is better. Their cheesecake on the other hand was awesome! It was one of the best I've had. It had the right "cheese"cake texture and a great aftertaste; just like a cheesecake should be. I also tried a peanut butter "Oreo"-like huge cookie, all dipped in chocolate, and it was extremely yummy. I've been craving it since.

I was in town visiting from the West coast and was extremely excited to make a special stop in my itinerary to visit this place...however, I was not that impressed. I took with me 5 other vegans (from various countries) and we weren't all that impressed. I think they were impressed with an idea of a vegan bakery but for taste...I think there were some things I had tried that I've made better myself. However, the staff was all friendly and the little place was filled with happy snackers.

I came from Arizona to try Sticky Fingers -- I only got one item (Little Devil), but dammnn, was it good. And huge. Definitely go if you can.

The other reviewers have pretty much covered how awesome their baked goods are.

The soft serve ice cream (right now just chocolate) is also a very special find.

They are moving this fall (2006) to a bigger location near the Columbia Heights metro. They will have soup, sandwiches, and other (all vegan, of course) light food fare once they move to their new location, in addition to the sweets for which they are famous.

They are already carrying stromboli, even before their move, for $3 which is FANTASTIC. Absolutely delicious, made with veggie pepperoni and tofurkey, and Follow Your Heart brand soy cheese (the best soy cheese around, IMO). My last day before I left DC I bought 5 and they were all gone before I even got back to the metro station.

I went there twice on a recent business trip. The buns are very good. The cheese cake was good as well although I still think that Muddy Paws in Minneapolis has the best vegan cheese cake. The staff is great. Definitely check it out!

I came here for breakfast 3 times on a trip, and I was pleased every time! The sticky buns are fantastic with a cup of the fair trade coffee. The shop itself is small, but they had advertised that they will be moving the location in the fall of '06.

I took the metro straight from the airport and carried my luggage I-don't-know-how-many blocks to get to sticky fingers. It was worth lugging my stuff every step. The baked goods were fabulous, and the staff extremely friendly. They have a ton of selections, and I would have loved to try them all - but sadly, my tummy does have a limit to how much it can hold. I recommend the carrot cake muffin, all of the cookies, and the something-cinnamon scone. I would bet 50 to nothin' that it's all really good, though. You've got to check this place out.
