Fast, casual vegan food
The Veggie Grill serves delicious, wholesome, comfort food. They feature classic American sandwiches & burgers that are amazingly flavorful, such as the Texas BBQ, Philly Pepper-steak & Santa Fe Crispy Chickin.

What can I say, watch out fast food, here comes the "Veggie Grill". With plans to spread out across America this place could be a hopeful turning point for a lot of carnivores. It runs a little heavy on the processed foods (seitan and tempeh) but for the most part it is a welcome addition to the blasé faire of California vegetarian cuisine ("I'm a vegetarian but I eat chicken and fish once in a while"). Great service from excellent staff who actually remember you and know what it is they are serving. Some of the food can be a little messy, like the BBQ sandwich, otherwise it is a fine experience and one I would not hesitate to endorse.

Veggie Grill is a fun place to eat if you're not looking for a fancy atmosphere. For vegetarian fast food, I think it's as good as it gets. The "wings" appetizer is terrific. For sandwiches, I recommend the Santa Fe Crispy Chickin' (my favorite!), the Carne Asada, the Grillin' Chickin', and Papa's Portobello, all of which I like to get with the Spring Mix Salad with chipotle ranch dressing. I love their carrot cake, which is moist and has a creamy frosting with just the right amount of sweetness. Mmm.
Veggie Grill is also affordable for LA. Dinner for two usually costs us $30 to $35. And since everything on the menu is vegan, we don't have to ask a lot of questions to figure out what we can eat there.
