I had no intention of stopping for a meal at Cru but I biked past and saw the words "organic vegan" and had to stop. I can always go for a snack but wasn't in the mood for raw food (which makes up most of the menu) so I decided on a soup. The waitress recommended the spicy chipotle black bean soup, and I will admit to being skeptical at first. I make a darn good bean soup and I've found that many restaurant soups are very plain. This soup, however was outstanding and perfectly seasoned. It was rich, creamy, and flavorful. I think that pureeing it is what really brought all the flavors together. The service was fast and friendly, so if I'm ever in the neighborhood again, I'll definitely stop in.
Excellent, healthy food. No soy, no gluten, and a lot of raw. I have tried everything on the menu and always am faithful to the Asian Noodle Bowl (Pad Thai), the Mezze Platter, and the Madras Curry. Beware of the raw Chocolate Truffle cake! It is INTENSE (in a good way)!
