Kalachandji's is closed on Mondays. My husband and I have eaten here numerous times. The staff is very friendly and professional and the atmosphere is very relaxing. I love to sit outside in the garden at night. The waitress told me that Friday and Saturday nights are my best bet for getting vegan desserts. The menu changes daily and is online.
This vegetarian buffet is very allergy friendly! There is a board on the wall that indicates what food contains wheat and or dairy products. The hot lunch buffet with the salad bar is $8.95. It is a dollar less if you only want the salad bar. The hot dinner buffet with the salad bar is $11.95 or $8.95 for only the salad bar.
The buffet is very, very vegan friendly! When I have a question, the staff is quick to answer it. Most of the foods do not have milk or eggs. The vegetarian buffet always has the same daily staples: a lentil soup or yellow split pea soup, basamati rice, brown rice, jasmin rice, steamed spiced savory mustard greens, steamed veggie medley with lemon tahini sauce (on the side), okra & potato curry, vegetable curry, pakora, pappadama, achar, homemade cinnamon wheat bread, tamarind tea, fruit halvah dessert, a vegan cobbler or vegan cookie, and a great salad bar with fresh fruit.
In addition to the daily staples on the buffet, they make an international entree. Each day the two international main entrees change. We have tried the vegetarian lasagna, enchiladas, spinach quiche, curried pumpkin, lima bean curry, vegetable pakoras with tamarind chutney and BBQ tofu.
I have several food allergies but I can always find enough to eat. My husband and I have eaten here six times. We love the food! The people are very friendly and professional.
