Jamaican "meat" & 2
Jamaicaway has fantastic food, mostly of BBQ and curry flavors. It has many meat-eater options, but also 4-6 delicious "vegetarian" options. However, most, if not all (food is different day-to-day), of the vegetarian options are vegan. Talk with the staff and they will help you make a choice. It is a great place to eat with omnivores without limiting your own selection. They also have a range of homemade drinks, including a carrot/soymilk mixture.
Located in the Farmers' Market, so you can also pick up some fresh produce while you are there.

My mother and I went there after my medical appointment at Vanderbilt. I was hesitant at first (the vegetarian food looks like the non-vegetarian) and was about to walk out, when she discovered the menu on the wall (not guaranteed to be the same as what is on their steam tables; for example, they had no curry gluten but did have an eggplant Parmesan). I ordered sides of sweet potatoes & pineapple and rice & beans, Vegetarian BBQ Chicken, and a JohnnyCake. She had sweet potatoes & pineapple and collard greens, stew chicken, and cornbread. We shared a carrot/mango homemade drink. Everything I had was INCREDIBLY delicious. She loved the collard greens, but thought the cornbread was dry.
It was so good, I went back and got takeaway to eat tomorrow. However, I couldn't wait to post my review. Knowing that I was going to, I asked a staff member if their vegetarian food was vegan friendly. She replied that the eggplant parmesan was the only thing she could think of that "had cheese". So, I expect it shouldn't be hard at all, given the selection, to satisfy a vegan tummy, just be sure to ask specific questions before you settle on your meal. They are all very helpful and do not mind at all.
I had a wonderful time. My mother thinks her stomach is "gurgling more than usual", but my normally sensitive stomach is completely fine, so take that as you will.
