I took a meat-eating friend here and we shared the vegetarian combo platter for two and he was blown away (his first time trying Ethiopian!). I consider myself a bit of an Ethiopian food snob (I live in NYC, where we have tons of Ethiopian restaurants) and I absolutely loved this place. The combo platter had good variety (I liked that it came with garden salad to balance it out), and came with a lot of food for a good price.
I usually try the sambusa at Ethiopian restaurants and I'm usually disappointed because it's just some bland lentils and too much dough. The sambusa here, however, was phenomenal! The dough was light and crispy and the lentils were perfectly seasoned.
We went for dinner around 6:30pm on a Friday night and the place was pretty quiet. However, by the time we were finishing up at 8pm, the place was completely packed so I'm glad we got there early!
