Falafel
Lenny Kravitz's favorite falafel place. The walk-up window is much cheaper than going inside, but a falafel will run you 5 Euros (march 08). This place closes for the Sabbath, and is open on Sundays. The falafel sandwich include cabbage AND fried eggplant.
Be careful around lunch time on week days - the lines go down the block (but it moves fast).

L'As was one of my favorite falafel places in Paris. It's too bad that the price went up to 5€, because when I was there it was only 4€ for a sandwich. To make the sandwich a little better (is it possible?) just ask "sauce picante, s'il vous plaît" (spicy sauce, please).
too expensive, but mostly worth it. ask for hot sauce.
