The Good Earth Planet Burger is not vegan! I've eaten this burger so many times and have been told it's vegan. Last time I went there and tried to order the burger I was told they put butter and breadcrumbs in it, both ingredients make it not vegan. I will never go to this establishment again. Staff is obviously completely unknowledgeable on what veganism is and I wouldn't trust them to know what else on their menu is or isn't vegan.

They just don't seem to get it.

I love their tea though.

They seem to have fewer vegan items than they used to, but they are very accommodating and will print out a list of ingredients for any menu item if you ask what is in it. If you mention that you are vegan they will make sure to only bring out vegan breads when they bring the hummus/bread to your table before your meal and/or point out which breads are vegan if you are with a group. (I've only gone with omnis, so there have always been non-vegan breads on the table, but last time the server brought me my own basket of bread and she even knew not to include the ones that had honey!)

Maybe not a first choice for veg*ns going by themselves, but in a group that includes non-veg*ns (especially if you are the only veg*n) this is usually a suggestion that pleases most, in my experience.

Don't even bother if you're vegan. It's really a shame... Lots of middle-aged omnis from the suburbs like to suggest this restaurant in an attempt to connect and be nice.

Not Vegan-friendly anymore. We went there August 7, 2008 for a treat. We left without eating. Everything on the menu includes animal muck. The server could not find anything that could be made vegan. We used to go there frequently. But, every new menu is less vegan-friendly than the previous one. We will not go back.

I've been here once for a group dine out. I got a plate of hummus, flatbread, and veggies. I just looked at the menu on their web site and didn't see it listed, so either they don't have it anymore or it's not on the list. It was more of an appetizer. They have oatscream with chocolate sauce and strawberries...mmm. I wish they had more veg options, though.

This is my favorite place! I love the squash soup! Just makes me feel good all over to eat here. I wish the squash soup wasn't a seasonal item. Another seasonal item that was wonderful this summer was mashed parships with an entry. I forget which one. Yummmmmmm. Like mashed white potatoes but so much better.

They need more vegan options, but their spinach strawberry salad is so tasty. The fresh juice is awesome, too.

However, I am SOOOOO addicted to the house tea. I buy it regularly in bulk from the store. It's super caffeinated, much more than any coffee I've had, and very flavorful and awesome. Crack-tastically addictive.

Their staff is always nice. They need more vegan options. They took my favorite dish off the menu. :(

I've been there twice in the last month. The first time I went I had the mixed green salad and it was great. It was huge! It was hard to find something on the menu to eat that was vegan. I love raw food so I just ordered the salad. The second time I stopped in for breakfast. It was very hard for me to decide what to eat. I had a mexican type breakfast burrito and I ordered it without cheese or eggs and it was very good. I had some whole grain toast with it. I find they are very willing to replace ingredients you don't want with other ones. They have Promise margarine instead of butter and I routinely ask for avocado to replace the cheese when I eat out. My husband and I eat out a lot and we like to visit resturants that serve a lot of meat so we can push them into making changes on their menu. We make them make us something vegan, at the same time we get to tell them about the need for more vegan options on their menu. We always end up talking to the people we sit next to all about our vegan life style and health issues related to meat consumption.

Wouldn't say this was the best place for vegetarians in Mpls anymore.....there are so many better places to eat out for vegans and vegetarians. Just a note for strict vegetarians: When I had last spoke to corporate office, they had claimed the cheeses they used most likely contained animal based enzymes. Maybe things have changed since then, but this was about 1 yr ago.

This place is extremely inconsistent.

Sometimes, your black bean tostada will come nicely loaded with beans, good chunky salsa, guacamole, and romaine lettuce. Other times, it will be soggy beans and sad looking iceberg lettuce.

The juices are fine, but the breads and cookies are not very good. The place is pretty forgettable.

They have a lot of meat items, so it's baffling why this place gets voted "Best Vegeterian." It would be more accurate to call it para-vegetarian.
