I dined here for lunch yesterday and decided to go the healthy route and got the gluten-free lasgana with a salad. However, instead of using gluten-free noodles, Field of Greens just layers summer squash and zucchini and pours tomato sauce over it. The dish was surprisingly flavorful but as it lacked both carbs and protein, it wasn't at all filling. It's one of the most expensive items on the menu priced at $11, so I expected something more substantial.
I ordered a BBQ seitan sandwich to go to eat on the plane, along with a cup of vegetable barley soup, which I ate at the restaurant. The soup was not spectacular but was good and it was nice to have an option besides fries or salad. The BBQ seitan sandwich, however, was a huge mess! The seitan looks like layers of lunch meat and came slopped together on a bun with the tomato, sprouts, and pickles falling all over the place. I ate a bite of it right away because I thought it may get soggy, but it was no better fresh than it was on the plane later that night.
My friend ordered the Eden burger, which has a "BBQ patty" (I think it was a Boca chik'n patty), and some shitake mushrooms and what looked like deep-fried tofu skins. This sandwich was excellent and I really wish I ordered it for myself. For $9, this burger (which came with fries) was beautiful, delicious, and looked really filling. My meat-eating friend loved this burger and said he enjoyed it more than most meat burgers.
For dessert, we went with the apple cobbler, which the host/cashier offered to heat up for us. We also got it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, which tasted like the basic So Delicious. I thought the dessert was hyper-sweet and only so-so, but my non-veg friend really enjoyed it.
