Vegan Bar
Bye and Bye is a vegan bar on Alberta. Reasonable prices for both food and drinks, comfortable atmosphere, no smoking, and lots of bike parking. Artwork on the walls and also a jukebox. The place is large, but it's broken up into a few different rooms so it still feels cozy. They also have a patio.

One of my favorite bars in town. It's the only veg place my not even close to veg boyfriend asks to go. Friendly staff and probably the best tofu I've ever had.
I'm still in love with the Bye & Bye, well over a year after first visiting. My experience with the food is narrowly focused (given that I don't do spicy all that well), but I adore the meatball sub, and lately I've been hooked on the grilled cheeze as well. When the brussels sprouts are done well, they are out of this world.
There's a new high roof over the patio out back (I am deeply fond of the patio, although I do miss the sky a little), and heaters have come along with it. Even in the winter, now, except on truly cold nights, it can be a wonderful place to go and have a conversation while you eat and/or drink, without getting overwhelmed by loud music and the indoor crowds.
Bartenders here are, nearly without exception, proactively awesome (if I'm being entirely frank, there is one who I rarely see, but pointedly avoid). They know their stuff, they are stars of service, and I have had several inventive (non-Floor Punch) non-alcoholic drinks that blew me away (along with all the alcohol I've consumed here). Some of the gimlets I've had here have been practically magical experiences.
Note also that their 4-7 happy hour can be a fascinating shift in demographics, along with the normal happy hour fare.
Love it. Even my non-vegetarian friends love it. The ones who are scared of vegan food, you know the ones......we ordered them the spaghetti, and they were convinced. Great variety of atmospheres too - bar scene or quieter restaurant area or outdoor patio. They could do with heaters on the patio, though, for the colder weather, since it gets crowded enough that we've had to sit out on the patio even when it's way too cold for it.
As a vegan from the south, this is the only place in Portland, beside my house, where I can get a bottle of Purple Haze and a mess of greens and protein at the same time.
Bravo on the selection, the space, and the kind staff.
Food is good, southern cuisine, but if you can't handle spice be warned, everything on the menu is very spicy, even the "meatball" sub. The drinks are good, but a little high. The place is beautiful inside, art, decor and employees are friendly.
super food, perfect drink options, a patio, non-smoking, and sweet staff. it's just the perfect place to spend your free time.
Great place, nice atmosphere. The staff is very friendly. This is a bar and they focus primarily on drinks, but they do have a food menu with eight entrees and a few sides. The meatball sub and eastern bowl were very good.

Best. Place. In. Portland.
Really; The Bartender Was Lovely and Helpful Always Had A Smile. Also, As Well As The Cook, What Cook Comes Out To Talk To Customers, Very Cool Guy. Even Called His Mom To Tell Her She Met Us (As We Live Close To Here Area).
So Stoked On This Place, The People, And Grub.
We Kind Of Want To Live In Portland Just For This.
Go There.
