Vegetarian Japanese and fusion food
Brown Rice Cafe is a whole foods based cafe that focuses on brown rice, vegetables, and soy. They also have a deli attached to the cafe.
They specialize in traditional Japanese bowls which include a variety of steamed vegetables, seasoned tofu, and rice. They also serve sandwiches, soups, desserts, juices, and organic beers.
Brown Rice used to be completely vegan but are now using honey in some of their dishes, and perhaps egg and dairy. Please check with the staff before ordering.
There is an English menu that indicates which dishes contain egg and/or dairy (including dessert items).
Take the Hanzoman line to Omote-sando station. Take the B2 exit and walk in the opposite direction that the exit leads you. Go down the first alley on your left (about 20 feet away), and walk a few minutes until you see Crayon House on your right (it's on a corner). Take a right here, and Brown Rice will be half way down the block, on the left side.

The food here tasted pretty good, but the servings were extremely small, especially for the price. The food was light and healthy, but you definitely only get a snack for the price of a meal.
I liked that they had an English menu and the staff was helpful, although a bit slow.
The desserts were good, but you can get them a little cheaper at the cafe next door, although you wouldn't get a dollop of vegan cream at the deli.
