We proudly present the foods of Thailand in the heart of DeKalb. We're a bit of Southeast Asia in your own small town.
As you probably already know, Thai cuisine is characterized by pungent and spicy flavors. Intriguing hints of aromatic and heady fresh herbs are artfully combined to stimulate all taste sensations: different balances of sweet (wan), salty (khem), sour (briao), and spicy hot (phet) flavors blend to make Thai food some of the best cooking in the world.
Chinese elements of tofu and rice noodles are also blended with tropical aspects of coriander, lemongrass, lime, coconut, tamarind, chilies, ginger, and garlic. Thailand's proximity to rivers, rice fields, and the sea make seafood, various vegetables, and fruits abundant in Thai cooking. Fragrant Jasmine rice, naturally, is a staple. Most dishes can be made for vegetarians upon request.
